Why is it so hard sometimes?

So I have a friend that wanted me to work on his site for him and post on related sites for his forums. I agreed to do it and posted high quality threads and replies and the site banned me. First off I want to say that the sites were related so it was not spam on that part. My friend had me post for a few days then added the signature link right away. I feel that this is what got me banned from that site. The mods were fine with my posts until he posted the link and since then they said that my posts were only being used to get attention to the link. But I worked hard on those responses, and did research as well and they were all longer posts. I just do not get it why some mods are so hard on some people. Yes I was trying to get attention to his site but at the same time, my posts were good.

Some mods just see this as spam since you are trying to get your link out. It may not be spam. Maybe it would have been best to wait longer to put the links in.

That is strange. If the forum allows signatures and the posts were non-spam... Did your friend enter fake signatures? Or links in the posts?

It is possible your friend may be promoting links of same niche of that forum. I think many forums don't allow to promote links of same niche.

You can check their guidelines or rules for signature links.

Yes he was promoting links that were of the same niche. I guess I never thought about that. I will have to say something to him. See if that was in the rules.

no they were not fake ones. You could click on them and you would go right to his sites.

That is very odd. I do not understand why mods are so tough sometimes when the poster is doing a good job.

Yes Kat I do not understand why they are so tough sometimes as well. I could see if it were true spam but it was not.

Maybe they see you as competition and do not want that on their site?

This does make sense but yet that is the purpose of links is to get back to your site.

Obviously, he put the signature link in too quickly and that drew suspicious attention to the posts. And, even though the posts were good, there could be other things you don't know about. For instance, did he send private messages to members on the forum advertising anything? That could be reason for ban too, even if he did not say that's what happened.

But I worked hard on those responses, and did research as well and they were all longer posts. I just do not get it why some mods are so hard on some people. Yes I was trying to get attention to his site but at the same time, my posts were good.

Of course you worked hard on the posts. And, I'm sure you did a good job.

But, it's his problem now, not yours as he already paid you for the forum posts. And, since the account was banned, he got nothing from the deal. You don't need to worry about it.
