What if you have a locked account with Yahoo?

What if your account gets locked or hacked? Is there some way to contact Yahoo to resolve the matter?

If your account is hacked, you can contact Yahoo, you need to provide proof of ownership, you may be asked some questions related to activities on your account..

I would say you would have to contact them. How I guess I never really thought of. Go to a homepage and see what info is available I guess.

I believe that you will have to provide proof that you are the true holder of the account by answering your security questions that you made upon making the account. That way Yahoo can confirm that you are the holder of that account and then they can help you fix your account.

No problem. Btw, you can add alternative email to account to get updates for your yahoo account

I have an alternative account and it does work nicely for times when you can not access your email.

I believe that you will have to provide proof that you are the true holder of the account by answering your security questions that you made upon making the account. That way Yahoo can confirm that you are the holder of that account and then they can help you fix your account.

Thank you for this suggestion. Two days ago, I checked my security questions and realized they were easily guessable and changed them so as to be more secure.

Your welcome. I tend to make my security answers to be things that only I know so that nobody will be able to just go out and guess them randomly.

You should be careful not to make your answers to questions so hard that even you can't remember the answer.

Otherwise, you will accidentally lock yourself out of the account if you ever need to answer them and there won't be a way back in.
