Google is the biggest, though not everyone thinks it's the best search engine. Just depends on what you need it for. As an example, if you want ALL results, Google is best. But for specialized niche results, you might try a specialized search engine. As for traffic, Google can offer you the most, so why not target your SEO efforts in that direction?

I agree with what you said because I have been using the 3 search engines once in a while just to get a feel if there is any improvement of other search engines in comparison with Google. But almost always I am still wanting for more when I am looking at the search list of Yahoo or Bing. Google gives me a search list with the most number of relevant links and I guess it cannot be beaten for now in that department.

Using any other search engine doesn't deliver great results from what I have found. Google does seem to do it better than most. That is speaking searching only. Some of their other products like wave have been a fail.

The good thing about Google is their pockets are deep enough they can try and fail dozens, maybe hundreds of times and not go bankrupt. Many other companies, including Yahoo are on their way out cause of their many abysmal failures. Not so with Google.

There are some specialized search engines targeting college students and even cooking as well as news and many other subjects. Usually the specialized search engine only features results for a specific niche, not all niches like Google.

So many more specialized search engines online, not just these.

Assuming you have a quality site and I'm sure you do, it wouldn't be very hard to rank as long as you could get that search engine's attention. That's always the challenge with any search engine though.

RSS feeds are always a good thing to submit as it lets search engines gain access to your latest content via other sites. You can even create an RSS feed for a page on a static site. And, you can simply ping it to let search engines know when it's updated.

Actually, the RSS feed on a static site, would just be for one specific page. Though you could create an RSS feed fore multiple pages. When i owned a static site, i updated the home page at least once a week if not more, with links to new pages, useful resources.

Actually, the RSS feed on a static site, would just be for one specific page. Though you could create an RSS feed fore multiple pages. Also, who's to say that a static site can't be updated on a regular basis? When i owned a static site, i updated the home page at least once a week if not more, with links to new pages, useful resources.

What I mean, static sites would be a little hard to maintain compared to blogging platforms such as wordpress. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

lol! I highly doubt it. Though Google is in our lives in every way, if you surf online at all. There's hardly a site you can visit without seeing Google ads. Though no Google ads on Facebook, right?

Well, what you said is quite right. Google is everywhere and there are lots of products own by them.

It’s quite right if you think Google is the best as Google provides you with the most relevant search results than any other. And of course Google is everywhere it adds the points. In Google you can find everything if you have searching skills.

What I mean, static sites would be a little hard to maintain compared to blogging platforms such as wordpress. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Static sites are a little more labor intensive to maintain as most times, you need to download and edit the pages in an html editor and then upload to even add new content.

But, many product/service related sites insist on having html sites.

Though really, it's just as easy to make your main site a blog and then have your domain point to that, rather than an html site.

At least, it's easier to update the blog than the html site.

Yahoo does an OK job of serving up entertainment related news but that's about all. They have a few other features, including email that I use daily but nothing by comparison to Google.

I think that Google is the best. I have been using Google Chrome and in my opinion, this is the best browser. Google Chrome loads faster. Google search yields the best results compared to other browsers. Google also provides different types of services and I do use them every now and then. I don't think that any company can compete with Google.

I don’t know what mean exactly but I am assuming that you are asking about the search engine. Before Google came along, I was using Ask. It is a website that is actually a search engine even before that term was coined. And when Google came along, it became popular at once because of its reputation that it is the fastest search engine in the whole of internet. So when it comes to search engines, I consider Google as the best because of its speed in searching.
