    Advertising in an ebook

    Many times when you open up an ebook, there will be a link on the first page that goes to a sponsored or author's website. Do you think this is a good form of advertising; to publish an ebook and include your link? Should you charge for the ebook or make it available as a promotional gift?

    I've seen this technique before, usually in promotional ebooks. And, usually it's just the author's own website. Though sometimes they will put affiliate links through out the ebook to promote their own products. That could be an interesting way to make your affiliate program go viral.

    Yea, I don't see anything wrong with advertising on an ebook as long as the ebook is quite a popular one that people can get to read. It is just like people that put up advertisements on a radio programme and get it played in between the programme. The essence is to sneak in such advertisement during the course of reading the ebook.
