My affiliate Total Purchased more than $1K

I like using automated RSS Feed Blogs like my WP Blog SocialCurrency. I just bought a $3.99 Domain and use a Plugin to Create Posts from RSS Feed Content.
Then it Shares each Post onto Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook, Google+ Linkedin, etc.

I never have to touch it, yet new Content every few minutes.

I also have been getting lots from my Affiliate Store: aDollarSEO.com

Oh, I'm disappointed. Even an X5 member who has been doing this for years has only made less than $5 grand total, over the years all added up? I'm not picking on you per se, I'm just taking you as an example of the best, and assuming everyone else is making much less than that. No offence to you, exjordanary, I mean, I only made $6.50 (10% of $65 in sales, but I'm going to try again this year) but I was thinking it could make a full steady income that one could live off in and of itself. Maybe thats unrealistic for one stream of affiliate income? I don't know, I'm a newbie, a 'want-rapreneur' (i.e. entrepreneur wannabe).

I assume that Exj has been going for about 5 years at least, so each year made ~$1k. $1k / 50 weeks = roughly ~$20 a week. Thats awesome for one stream of income among many but in and of itself its not going to make you rich. Even if he's only been around for 2 years, thats still $50 a week which is awesome but doesn't pay the rent by itself. Is that how it is Exj, or am I totally way off par?

How much are people making a week off affiliate sales, if you don't mind me asking? Especially the top aff. guys.

I might not the one of the "top aff.guys" you're looking for but I'll answer anyway.

exjordanary joined on May 2, 2012. That said, I can't tell when he got his first affiliate sale or how much time he's spent advertising his affiliate links etc. People approach things differently and ex has focused on affiliates stores, at least the last couple of weeks/months. (If I understand his posts correctly.) Which makes it all more or less 100% passive. (Except the advertising, which can be done in multiple ways.)

I started to focus on affiliates during the second affiliate contest & when the contest was over, I stopped. During the third contest, I went on a "affiliate-hunt" again and stopped once again when the winners was announced. (Which I honestly can say was a mistake but time hasn't been on my side so I had to put it all on hold.) That said, I recently started to gain affiliates again and I'm spending about 1-2 hours per week doing some advertising (at this time, which is far less than what I'm aiming for but it's more than nothing).

A side note: I came in 2nd place during the second contest and 4th in the third. Which gave me some prize money too. I believe exjordanary was the 1st winner in both of them.

Here's my results.
My affiliate Total Purchased more than $1K

That's a total of $687 in profit from my affiliates and even if I spread that profit over the 458 days, when I got my first affiliate sale, I've made: 687/458 = $1.5 per day.

That's way to little to make a living on. It's about $40 per week, but it's still 100% passive income (except my 1-2 hours of work). Another thing you have to take into consideration is that about ~6% of my affiliates are placing orders regularly (each day). ~3% of them are placing 1-2 orders per week or so and about 1% of them, 1-5 orders per month. The other ones are inactive and honestly most of them have never purchased anything at all..

I bet exjordanary see's something similar among his affiliates. (just my guess) Imagine if ~80% would purchase services regularly.. That's what you're looking for but it's based on luck too. Your effort, how you do things and how much time you spend doing it +luck. That's what's going to bring you a good passive income.

My $1.5* (if calculated the way above) per day on average isn't what I'm after, but I'm quite satisfied with that based on the time I've spent gaining affiliates. I try to bring SEOClerks more users and when I actually get paid doing it, (the affiliate program), it's a total pleasure.

Since the most recent user level update, you'll earn a small percentage extra on sales and affiliate sales when reaching higher levels and I bet that makes a huge difference for people like exjordanary who's got 5,000+ affiliates... And I'm aiming for similar results too!

Best Regards,
hitmeasap

@ShanghaiKiwi84

Ok, first of all. 5 years ago, there was no SEOClerks.com - SEOClerks was launched in late 2011.

Here's a little bit of info being overlooked though.

Just like @hitmeasap , I didn't start promoting my Affiliate Link until the first Contest either (even though I've been a Member since May 2012, I didn't become very active at all until later that year since SEOClerks was very new and I maybe had ONE Service Listed -so I'd rarely sign in if at all)

I did all kinds of things for the Contest which I won, but many of the things I did, started building momentum a few months later when the next Contest came around. So for the other Contest, I did absolutely NOTHING to Win that Contest. I had a Steady Stream of about 30 new Affiliates PER DAY by then.

But here's the problem with the way you're calculating everything. When you do a "broad Calculation" without considering ROG (Rate of Growth), you're Calculations are never gonna be correct.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Take a look at this Data for example:

On Feb. 10th, 2014, as Posted HERE (by myself):
My affiliate Total Purchased more than $1K
I had $24,685 in Total Affiliate Sales

a little more than a MONTH later, I had TWICE that amount

By March 28th, 2014, as Posted in the SAME Thread HERE (by myself):
My affiliate Total Purchased more than $1K
I had $47,288 in Total Affiliate Sales (yes, that's right - DOUBLE the amount)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So just to be Conservative, I'm now "Doubling-Up" every, let's say 2 months to be safe.
Which mainly has to do with the Growth of the Web in General. Even Human Population will effect things I've promoted years ago, and never need to touch again.

From Images, to Videos, to Social Media Accounts. After I basically "Plastered" my Affiliate Link using all those methods, it's not like they disappear.

  • All Videos continue to gain Views, Likes and Momentum.
  • All Social Media Account continue to gain Fans, Followers, etc. -
  • and there are over 20k People New to the Web PER DAY (worldwide)

So please consider ROG when doing Math.
