Do you start working as soon as you wake up or does your day start late?

When you work as a freelancer you can set your own schedule. Since you do not work in an office or business premises, there is no set time when you need to be at work. And you do not have to factor in the time required to travel to the place of work. So effectively you can sleep late.
But do you do this, or do you still wake up early so as to start off your day as early as possible?
Personally I wake up at about 7am, and I start as soon as I get my cup of coffee!

Since i am working many times latte in the night (till 1 - 2 am) i am not getting up so early as you Do you start working as soon as you wake up or does your day start late? But about 9am i am having my morning coffee to put my self together and usually checking emails, messages and if there was some sales while i was sleeping i do it right after coffee, if not, i have my early breakfast and go out for a walk, maybe get another coffee with friends in local cafe than i am fin to work some more (even 12 or more hours). I can't even explain how happy i am about this freedom of freelancing, even when i work long hours, still feeling OK and no pressure Do you start working as soon as you wake up or does your day start late?

I usually start working at night in two hour shifts. I would finish at about 4:30AM and cook breakfast, watch some news and then sleep.

I typically have a routine when my little girl is in school. When she's on summer break it's slightly different.

My routine consists of:
  1. Waking up at 7am to get my little girl ready for school. Realistically I get up at 7:15 because I hit my snooze a few times Do you start working as soon as you wake up or does your day start late?
  2. We leave our house at exactly 8:00am and walk down the street to her school which usually takes around 5 mintues, so we get there around 8:05am.
  3. When we get there she's in line for about 5 minutes before they walk in and I stay there til she's inside then I walk home.
  4. When I get home I'll walk my dog and that usually takes around 15 minutes because he's old and fat. We only walk up 2 blocks and then come back.
  5. When I get back from walking the dog I'll usually have a small snack for breakfast and get my water bottle.
  6. Now it's game time! Actually, it's time to work Do you start working as soon as you wake up or does your day start late? I'll start by checking my emails and responding to whatever needs a quick response and delete all the junk I've gotten over the night. I have a lot of my support emails forwarded to my personal email so I can check everything in one spot. If something needs to be responded to I'll log into my websites cpanel/email and respond from there. I never respond from my personal email so it seems a bit more professional.
  7. After emails I'll check my sales that were made throughout the night and withdraw any earnings that have cleared.
  8. When I get all the basics done, like emails and withdraws, I'll get into the more advanced stuff like checking my rankings and applying SEO techniques to my pages Do you start working as soon as you wake up or does your day start late?

Hi from the beginning of my freelancing carrier I never get up early in the morning either for any special and serious reason. I mean I never get up early in the morning for freelancing job. Because usually I am going to sleep very late night after completed all daily task. And usually I wake up at 10.00 AM and once wake up, firstly I check on my mobile SEOclerks account and other relevant mail too. Than I am going to take refreshment and get morning breakfast and getting ready to go office. This is my daily schedule as a freelancer.

Thanks by Ajlancer

Oh I would love to get up at 10am! I dream about it sometimes but this hasn't happened once for over 5 years... kids.

I have a 2 year old and a 4 year old. They are at playschool from 8h00 - 12h00 so I have learned to work really fast from the moment I get home from dropping them at school until I go and pick them up. Then I sometimes manage a little more work when my son is sleeping in the afternoon. I often work in the evening when they are in bed.

I work when I get any chance to. I don't get the choice to work when I would like to.

I could out my kids in full day at playschool I suppose but I don't want to pick up my kids so late unless I absolutely have to.

Being so young make the most out of their childhood as they grow up quickly. Utilize the time when they are at playschool or asleep really well for work, but other than that I recommend that you do not allow the work to take over your other more important role of a parent. I am speaking from experience as I have young kids myself, and believe me, they grow up sooo quickly! When they are older and start to spend more hours at school you will be able to work more.

Oh I totally know! I had my kids in playschool till 5pm every day until February this year and I just realized that time goes too quickly. I mean we all love money right? But my kids are growing up so fast and I just don't want to miss it.
My mother was a stay at home mom and it was wonderful. I am determined to be there for them... and work. It is tough but I am adapting.

I sleep at around 11PM and wake up at around 8:00AM on a normal day but on a busy day, I will sleep at bit later and wake up at around the same time in which I will need some coffee to get me going. I normally have some breakfast after I wake up and then take a short break before working. I feel tired when I just wake up so I don’t start work straight away. If I don’t have much to do, then I sometimes start doing work after lunch at around 1PM to 2PM. However, recently, I have been quite busy so that hasn’t been the case.

I don't have any proper schedules unfortunately, due to my panic disorder.. It's very difficult to follow a strict schedule even though that's what I'm aiming for. I usually work for about 10-12 hours per day, no matter when I get up or when I'm going to sleep. I often wake up around 10 am and usually start with breakfast, so about 30 minutes later, I'm in front of my computer working. A couple of hours later, about 5 or 6 hours perhaps, I usually have dinner and after that, I'm working for a about 5 or 6 more hours after that.

Best Regards,
hitmeasap

I'm not going to post my routine because I'm famous and don't want any stalkers to know my schedule. . but that's a lie because I often don't hold up a schedule of sorts. My morning consists of going directly to the kitchen to make a cup of coffee because of my caffeine addiction. I can not live the day without my pot of coffee. Next, I turn on my computer and get instantly stressed thinking I have so much work to do, and then get exited if there is actually a lot of work, it's a very weird process.

The only times I start my day late is if I overslept or don't feel well.. usually when I don't feel I don't work because that will often lower quality of the work and I try to strive for the highest of quality always.

I do not have a specific routine either, no matter how much I would love to be able to have it. But my working hours depend a great deal on family exigencies. With the kids around I end up working fewer hours. But I cannot help that. Since now there are the summer holidays and they will be around I have decided to wake up earlier to benefit from some quiet time. But it is going to be hard for me.

I wake up early, (thanks to my 3 little alarm clocks) anywhere between 6 a.m. - 7 a.m. I immediately come to the computer and start answering all orders I have received throughout the night, I then go through every page of my orders to see if there are any orders that clients have questions on. Then I start answering any questions or concerns I have in my inbox. After I have taken care of all of that, I begin all the new orders that have come in (while my wonderful wife makes my kids and I breakfast) !!Do you start working as soon as you wake up or does your day start late? Once all of that is done, I then go through and deliver any orders that are complete! By the time I am finished it is usually between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. and I get to spend the rest of my day with my family, while checking and responding to orders every hour or sooner!

I start working quite early in the morning. I normally wake up at 5.30 am as I do not like to miss my morning exercises. I normally exercise for about 45 minutes. Then I have some rest and some minutes later I have my breakfast. I normally start working at 7 am and stops working at 6 pm. I take regular breaks in between. I usually go outside for a walk or watch TV during my breaks or at times when I don't have too much work to do I take a nap.

My work schedule is a kind of different considering the fact that I work offline with a reputable firm as well. So what I do every morning when awake is to start preparing for work while the evening time is set aside for my works on the internet. I enjoy combining both works at the present stage.

In my 7 years of freelancing online, I have discovered that sometimes you have so many jobs that you have to work 12 hours in a day, and sometimes you don't have any work for days, even weeks. When I have many assignments at hand, I wake up at 1 in the morning and work until 9. When I do not have any works, I sleep until 8 in the morning. In a normal day, I wake up at 5 and begin my work schedule.

My day starts late. It is good to have a timetable but it should be flexible. I don't like following routines so I always work when I am ready or have more time. I guess it is because the things I do online are not consistent and that is why my daily routine always fluctuates.

I am not a workaholic but I sometimes do that. The reason is that I wake up early so I can leave home early in order to avoid the rush hour with the heavy traffic on the roads. And when I wake up much earlier, I would check my work at once. Actually, it is the email that I first check when I open my computer or phone for internet browsing. And since I have not much time in the morning, I rarely do that unless, as I said, there is spare time.
