    Are authority websites ranking without backlinks?

    hi

    some authority sites who let you write on it can rank without even backlinks. how can we get benefit from that and how do we promote it?

    It's not possible to get authority rank without backlinks. If you found some website without backlinks then it's authority like DA or PA is going to drop drastically on next update.

    Backlinks are important to gain a good ranking. And they are even more critical in case the site is an authority site.

    Or maybe you were trying to say how it could be possible for you to find some authority sites and manage to get backlinks from them?
    In that case you can either ask politely if they would be able to do that for you by emailing them. Some do not agree with this tactic, but there is nothing wrong in trying.

    Try to produce something interesting and valuable which could attract links.

    If you want a link on a popular site but just cannot get it, I would suggest to see if there are any other sites linked to from that particular site. Often some of these could be good potentials, so why not try to get a link there at least? You will not be getting all the benefits of the actual authority but at least you would be able to get a bit of it through these links.

    The thing with authority websites is that you can find them other people linking to them. So liking those websites and linking to them has it's own share of stuff. Most of the authority sites have lot of human followers. And those are the one responsible for building brand. Instead of backlinks they focus on branding. That's where it is important.

    There are websites where the companies have real-world authority, and so they could technically rank well without backlinks based solely on popularity. However, it is extremely rare to find a popular company or site that is receiving absolutely no incoming links. They just don;t have to work to get them.

    This discussion is interesting to me because what I understand with authority website is one that deals with a niche that is for public consumption. One such site is Yahoo Anwers or Snopes which are informative so users go there once in a while for information. But posting on those authority sites is not easy because it filters the posts very well and you are lucky if you get your post published there.
