One page a day doesn't sound like much. But, when you consider how you will also need to polish up your writing, it can end up taking many hours to complete. Though if you are writing one page a day, then you will be finished with a 300 plus page book in just about a year.

Depends on how much you are doing. One page is not a lot but then again maybe it is better to write more and then go back and alter it later?

Are you accustomed to writing five or ten pages a day on your blog? If not, then it might be a stretch for you to write that much creative fiction.

You might think that writing creative fiction is easier than writing non-fiction but with the non fiction you will have source material. You can easily use that as a reference.

With fiction it's only the ideas that your brain cooks up that you have to go on.

If your brain doesn't produce creatively you are stuck!

I wrote one book, and it took me six months to do it!! I think that averages out to 1 and 1/2 pages a day.

Whether it's a book or any kind of manuscript, your daily output would depend on your propensity to write. It's a rule that you should stop writing when you experience a mental block or when your writing is obviously slowing down because your output will have a lower quality. In other words, write as long as you can when your mood dictates. Writers tell me that they can write 20 pages a day for an average but sometimes they can do 3 times that output or none at all. When I was co-writing a blog, I could turn up with 2 articles in one day of 2 to 3 pages each so my capacity for that kind of article is around 5 pages in a day or maybe more. But take note that I am well versed with the theme of the blog. For other topics, it may be lesser in pages.

When I am writing a book, I never make hard and fast rules. I let the words flow easily instead of focusing on how many words should I write daily or how many pages I should write daily. I may write 20 pages if words flow naturally, and may not write even a lin if the words are not flowing naturally.
