    Delaying the creative process in writing

    Some people say you should delay the writing process when you get a new idea to allow your brain and creative talent to assimilate the idea and give you feedback. But, I don't like doing things this way as any delay in the writing process just makes me frustrated or bored with the idea.

    If I get an idea for a story or conversation with my characters, I won't writing it down and working on the idea. I will write anywhere as it helps me get the creative juices flowing. If I delay, I lose my momentum and don't feel like writing about that idea anymore.

    If I'm in the car and get an idea, I might write it down on a note app on my iPhone, but I won't actually take time to work on it then. Later on, when I can get onto my computer, the ideas are already buzzing around in my head so I don't have much trouble writing from start to finish.

    I don't quite understand the title of this thread. Maybe it is the waiting period for the idea to ripen? Anyway, when I get an idea, I just write it on my phone. It can be a plot for a story or a topic in a forum, anything that is worth writing. And then I compile my ideas in a list where I can choose what to write. And for long articles, yeah, I tend to procrastinate a bit when my brain is not fully cooperating with the topic. But sometimes when the idea is ripe in my head, I would be writing continuously as if I am using a machine gun.

    There are no certain rules for writing. How one writes, depend on person to person. However, there are of course some writing rules. For instance, if you get an idea, you should not immediately sit to work on that idea. Instead you should bood on the idea, research on idea and let it mature. If the idea is well supported by research and is mature enough, your writing will become better.

    I believe we should delay any time for creativity, when once get a creative idea, he or she pen it down and start working on the idea. I don't know about delaying creativity because I don't see the usefulness of that. So maybe it might help others but that style might not be to me.
