How many chances should you give a buyer?

How many chances should you give a buyer, when trying to message them about a job and receiving no responses before you simply give up and ask to cancel the order?

Three strikes and you are out unless it is a huge mess up.

When a buyer purchase any of my services and I don't get accurate details to start with, I usually request a mutual cancellation as soon as I know I'll have a hard time deliver the order in time. (Since the delivery time started when the buyer gave me the details.)

I tell the client about this immediately but I can't allow myself to wait for days. It's not worth it.

Regards,
hitmeasap

I'm not sure about it, because if you refuse to provide them services, then they can simply go on a rant here on the forum to try to ruin your reputation as a seller, so it's damned if you and damned if you don't.

There could be a reason the buyer has not responded to your messages, such as they are not able to be online to talk to you. However, if they have not provided details that you need, such as a website link to a site you are supposed to work on or other important details, then how are you supposed to complete the job? Make a good faith effort to message the buyer, even several times as Angie suggested and explain the situation, without pointing fingers of blame (as who can say what is really going on at the buyer's side of things).

Explain to the person that you cannot complete the job without the requested information (assuming that's what you need).

From my own experience, I have found that a buyer will usually respond to a message left on the actual order, rather than a private message. And, that's something you would want to try first.

And, then suggest a mutual cancellation Most likely, the buyer will not contest the mutual cancellation as they didn't bother responding to any of your private messages before. So why now step forward to complain that you are not working?

If possible, request your cancellation before your deadline.
The order will cancel after two days.

And, if the buyer tries to come back to complain that you would not complete the work for them or in some other way hurt your reputation, then simply take a screenshot of your order, including the messages where you made the effort to communicate with them. Post your screenshots in the thread. It will clearly show in your favor how you tried to talk to this buyer and they would not respond. Then the buyer will have no defense.

From what I know, the buyer cannot leave a negative review for you, if the order is mutually canceled as they are receiving a refund. If they leave a negative comment on your service sales page, you can simply delete it.

If you have further problems of harassment from any buyer, whether on SEOClerks market place or forum, please report it to the staff via the help desk. Be sure to include screenshots of all communications between yourself and your buyer to support your side of the story.

True on this. Sometimes you just can not win no matter what you do!
