I like creating design elements and want to incorporate some of my designs onto a Wordpress theme. Is there a way to integrate the design elements into an existing theme or would I need to create a Wordpress theme from scratch to use my own graphics?

That seems rather redundant considering the thousands of ready made themes out there. I've changed the header and background of a very simple Wordpress theme but not gone so far as designing a theme from scratch. That seems rather redundant considering the thousands of ready made themes out there.
