Forum hobby

Is it better to start a new forum as a hobby so that you can slowly build up your forum membership? Or, should you just start the forum with the main purpose of making money?

No one says that you have to earn money with every project you start.

And, you can just as easily have a forum hobby as a forum that is based around money making.

The most important thing to keep in mind is that if you love your forum, then it will do better than if you are only after the money.

No matter what your intentions are when starting your forum-whether to make money or friends-the main thing is that you must love your forum more than anything else. If not, your forum won't grow beyond infancy.

I had plans before on creating my own forum about pets. I am a dog lover and as part of my hobby, it would be great to connect to other dog lovers. However, when I learned of the requirements of a forum, I got overwhelmed. There is an expense involved and a moderator should be manning the site 24/7. And what if the forum doesn't get members and posts don't come frequent, that would be like wasting money and effort. For now, I am content to be just a community member of forums in that genre.
