Can some members be too active?

Sometimes, when I visit a forum, I find that one person replies to almost every discussion on forum. And, this seems very excessive. I don't know why anyone would bother replying to every discussion made. Is it possible for one member to so completely dominate forum discussions that their contribution seems more annoying than helpful?

If that member is actually posting really good discussions, then why are you discouraging them?

Maybe you think they want a signature line. But isn't that a standard accepted practice for most forums to allow members to have?

I'd keep my eyes on someone who joins the forum and then runs in quickly to post a few dozen or hundred responses. That person is just post count building. It's so obvious, don't you think so?

I have been going to one forum where a member is too active. Although he doesn’t post on all the threads, his username is ubiquitous because it’s all over the forum. I don’t think he is a staff or maybe he is just good in disguising his identity. But his posts are sensible and, in fact, I see him as a respected member of the community. That kind of member is truly an asset to the forum.
