Were you ever so inspired by a forum

Were you ever so inspired by a forum after visiting for the first time that you wanted to start a similar forum of your own? Did that forum ever work out to be as big as the one that inspired it?

I have been on numerous forums that inspired me to want to start my own, the only problem with starting my own that was similar to one that inspired me was that it put me in competition with them and unless I had unique ideas that were somewhat different to what they offered then I was pretty much taking a huge chance. I remember once being inspired by a forum for a reason you would never expect. I was on a forum where members and staff were friendly and everyone helped each other but for some reason, a moderator on the forum never really liked me and hated the fact I would go in and help people out before her. She ended up accusing me of all kinds of things and I was wrongfully banned. That ban inspired me to open a forum of my own where members would freely be able to state their opinions and speak their mind without feeling like they did wrong, as a forum should be. I was later unbanned when they realized what she was doing but by then I had a forum of my own which I was happy with and I never went back. In my eyes I should never have been banned on the say so of one moderator in the first place.

I wonder what reason did the moderator give for banning you. There are moderators who act like Gods, I understand your situation. But creating your own forum just because you were banned is not a good reason. I also had that plan before of making my own forum but I suffice myself to just enjoy the existing forums in that genre. I am a dog lover and you know that there are thousands of forum about pets. It's not easy to compete with them much more when we are not well versed in the operation of a forum not to mention the expenses involved.
