How much does it cost to buy vBulletin?

I want to buy a professional forum software for my own forum so that we can upgrade from this free software we are using now.

Can you please give me details on the price of vBulletin? And, is this the best choice for paid forum software?

VBulletin costs from $249 to $399, depending on the option you choose and whether or not you are upgrading or installing software for the first time.

If it were my choice then I would go with Xenforo, which has really amazing features.

The price is very affordable at just $140.

Xenforo is a better forum software for me. I don't know why anyone would over spend on vBulletin anyway. The features are not better.

This forum is Xenforo and it looks very nice. Though I have seen better templates used on Xenforo forums. Maybe those are more costly to use.

vBulletin's self hosting license costs 150$ with addons that goes to the 249$ in 2018. And who knows they may keep the price down in near future. I'd say that there are chances that IPB boards in future may also compete on the price. There seems to be a lot of progress being thrown around. I think Xenforo on the other hand has fixed 140$ while they are capturing the market.
