    What would you consider spam on your forum?

    If it were my forum, I would say all promotional links are spam. What other types of posts would you consider spam, other than just promotional links?

    Any one or two word answers, such as 'thanks' and 'good idea' are spammy and should be deleted. They don't really contribute in any way. Even if you don't have lots of active forum members, you should never get so desperate as to allow that type of content to stay up.

    Going off topic is spam on some forums. They will give you a warning if you go too far off topic. If you own the forum, you can decided whether or not this is spam.

    Any type of self serving links such as 'Check out my blog post that answers your question', could be seen as spam. If the member is simply linking to an impartial third party site, that would not be spam.

    Those that copy others just to get more posts under their belt. I have been on a few sites where individuals will just copy the entire post above them and past that on and call it good.

    Any promotion of a product, services and even celebrities can be considered the ordinary spam aside from the links to a website. But some spammers are creative with their spam. I remember one Youtuber who would comment on a discussion. His comment is sensible and relevant so you will not notice that there is something between the line that refers to his video. It’s not a link though but the name of the channel. I find that spam cute and maybe forgivable if only for the creativity.
