    What can I do about fighting forum members?

    What can be done with members who are constantly arguing and fighting with each other? If I ban one, then they will say that I'm playing favorites. I don't want to lose forum members over a few people who can't get along.

    Send them a message asking them to refrain from fighting. That is what I would do.

    That really depends on your forum rules. For example, if they are directly breaking your rules they should be warned. However, if they are not using any kind of offensive language, spreading hate or anything similar, but flaming in places where it shouldn't be flamed, then you refer them to the Off Topic where they can continue arguing.

    You can have warnings. Do the 3 strikes and you are out. Give them infractions so they are limited to posting daily.

    With fighting members, the moderator should practice patience and prudence. Unless it's okay to lose a member, you have to settle the issue amicably. Of course, it would depend on the issue of conflict but there's always a diplomatic way of resolving such conflict. The messaging system is the best for this case. Never post on the board about the issue.
