    Alternate ways to monetize a forum

    I am currently selling my signature line on my own forum and it's earning more than Adsense. And, really that's always been true. Privately sold ads, always earn more for me than Adsense. Maybe Adsense works better on some niche forums (mine is general chat) or a niche blog. I would like to talk with you about other possible ways to monetize a forum that does not work well with Adsense. What are you doing in addition to Adsense to get earnings for your forum?

    Sell reviews or sticky posts on your forum. Host a classified section on your forum where members buy threads. Then discontinue usage of the signature line, so the only place they could advertise is in your classified section.

    You are selling signature line on your forum means you have a very popular forum with a lot of members and high traffic. I think selling signature is one of the best methods of monetizing the forum. You can also sell advertising services to the members. If you have a popular forum, the members might be interested in advertising their products and services on forum threads.
