How do you feel about admins/mods deleting posts?

This question is for forum owners mostly but also regular forum members if you want to answer. How do you feel about forum admins or moderators deleting posts? From the forum owner's point of view is this an acceptable thing, as you are losing post count. And, for the forum member, do you feel as if someone is restricting your free speech when your posts are deleted?

If it is offending someone or goes against the rules then I feel that it needs to be deleted.

From having a couple of forums myself, plus being a Moderator in a few as well, I feel as though it's necessary to delete a post when it's spam of any kind. When it comes to "Offensive" material, that's really hard to monitor, as many individuals have different interpretations on what is offensive to them; however in saying that, if the post has insulting mannerisms that are clearly obvious, or clearly is profound, then I will delete the posts.

Spam and utter disrespect earns a post a "Throw In The Trash" reward...lol

I don't give a second thought to deleting rude, offensive or spam posts. And yes, what's rude to one might not be rude to another. This might include posts with name calling or bashing someone who is making their best effort to help. Not everyone is well read or a literary genius but that doesn't mean their effort should be demeaned. On some forums you will see lot of these type of posts from members who want to bully others into agreeing with them. And, if you tolerate that type of behavior on your forum then all you will have is bullies as everyone else will just get up and leave. If I see that behavior on my own forum or any forum I manage, i can and will delete the posts and ban that person.

I have no qualms in deleting spam posts expecially if the poster is a spammer only and not a legit poster. To be honest, I had experienced that situation where my post was deleted. It's frustrating when I don't see anything wrong with my post and the admin or mod would not explain the reason. As I had posted in another thread, I would not delete a post if I were the admin except for obvious spam posts. To me, a forum shouldbe candid and natural so a censor or filter are not needed.

When I post my ideas and views on forums, it is always original. It is always what I think and I share it. So when my posts are deleted, I always feel my ideas are going to waste and most of the time, it is hard to remember everything we write.
