    Who starts the most new discussions on your forum?

    As forum owner, do you start the most discussions? Or, do you leave it to your loyal members to start the discussions?

    If I go to a site and see only discussions started by the forum owner, then I will think that forum is not as active as it should be. As a forum owner, you need to lead the forum community but not dominate it. Many times a forum m ember will have a unique way of saying things you might not have thought of. So be sure to encourage the forum members to post discussions too.

    I think that to begin with you can start them but hopefully after a while there are more forum members that are starting them.

    A forum owner who loves their site will take time to be actively involved. If they love the site, they will take time for it.

    A forum owner who loves their site will take time to be actively involved. If they love the site, they will take time for it.

    You should think about the site owners who also have other jobs outside the forum. For these people, being full time and hands on, might not be a realistic option.

    This is the primary chore of the admin or owner. But mysuggestion is to get volunteers to help in the initial posts to give the forum
    a semblance of activities. Creating another account by the admin for purposes
    of posting is not a bad idea. However, that other account should be distinct
    and separate from the character of the admin so it will give an impression that
    it is an ordinary member. Posting by the admin is also good since the community
    will feel at ease.

    I think that if it's a new site, then it's the responsibility of the forum owner or admin or moderator to create discussions. But if it's an old site then it should atleast be 40 percent by the admin and 60 percent by the members.
