    How active are you on your competitor's forum?

    It just makes sense to be active on your competitor's forum, assuming they allow you to have a signature backlink. You would want to contribute your very best posts and new discussions on the forum and create trust with other forum members, rather than simply posting links to your own site. If you stick around long enough you will naturally get traffic from that site as others come by to see what else you and your community are talking about.

    I would not thought it would be awful to be on your competitors forum but this is a great idea. I like the idea a lot Beverly, and think that you can get some good traffic back to your site.

    If you mean by competitor forum is like an affiliate or a friendly competitor then I guess that is a good way of exchanging favor. It's like I post on yours and you post on mine. Posting on another forum but with a backlink to your forum can definitely be an advantage. You are giving that competitor forum contents with your posts and you get in return potential members of your community. In that case, you should be logging in daily and making good posts so the community will notice you.
