Is a forum like an online business?

Do you think of your forum in the same way as an online business, similar to how a site owner who sells products would? Does it help to treat a forum like a business?

If you're not treating your forum as a business, you won't actually earn money. A forum is like a real job, in how it requires time and dedication and committment of both energy and money resources.

Yes a forum is a form of online business for the forum owner. There are decisions to be made and money can also be made as well.

The only people who don't think forums are a real business are the ones not actually earning money. They just assume it's not possible to earn money from forums, so they give up and treat the forum like a hobby. There are many examples of highly successful forums which earn big. You just have to keep trying with your money making efforts if you want to earn.

Well forum is created to earn profit. So it will really important to treat it like business which it is. That way the owner will do everything to keep it running. I mean there's commitment with business but with hobby there's no much seriousness or dedication.

From what I know, forums are businesses and forum owners also make money from their forums. What I don't know is the methods they use to earn from the forum like using Adsense. I would like to know other ways of earning from forums for forum owners.

Sure, forums these days are run to make money, just like blogs that one can monetize in different ways forums can be monetized as well.One can use an ad network to monetize, sell ad space to companies that need to create awareness for their products and brands, get donations from users and also use affiliate marketing.There are so many ways of making money with a forum so it a business now.

For some, a forum is a business with pleasure. We have forums because of the forum lovers who create their own forum. It is their passion so they are willing to invest even if there is no assurance of good returns. And for a forum to succeed, you have to invest not only money but time and effort in running your forum, seeing to it that members are toeing the line and that new members are coming in. A successful forum can earn you good money. But much more than the money is the enjoyment, that is if forum is your passion.
