Who can teach me SEO? Or can someone work with me and do SEO on my sites?

This is a pretty good question because I’m sure there are many in this forum who can answer that call for service. I have been thinking that I can somehow do SEO work on a site but I still have some problems with the tools. How can I show the client that the backlinks I posted are working? There is a tool for that but I currently do not know. With the keywords it is also a complicated matter and not all keywords would be effective.
