    List your business to Google Places!

    First of all, I want to briefly explain what Google Places is. Google Places is the Google section that assigns Google maps interesting places (businesses, hotels, cafes, restaurants, etc.) so people using a computer or mobile phone can find the places they're looking for.Listing in Google Places is free and is very useful for those who want to visit your office / headquarters / stores using Google Maps. Listing in Google Places also helps with SEO optimization, because of the map that is placed to the right of the results and the address along with a phone number below the search result for your site.
    You use the Google My Business for the first time?Follow these steps to sign up for free:
    *Choose the company by name and address.
    *You will then be asked to enter some details for the company. Make sure you enter an exact and complete address as well as a company's direct phone number. *Click Send.

    After this short stepts you'll need to veriffy you business. In most cases, you'll recive a postcard wich contain a verrification code, but it depends from country to country. After that , you're all set, you can enjoy your business on Google Places!

    This is interesting and never thought something like this could be useful to getting your business out there, but I can see how this could help a business. I will have to try this with one of my small businesses and see if I get any positive results from it!

    The only thing with Google Places is that you can not really add an online business there, unless the online business has a physical address. For instance, I run a couple of websites and there is no main address (basically the address would be my home address since that's where I do the coding, and I do not want to advertise on Google places with my home address). Surely this could work for businesses that sell physical products or has services but online business such as games or something; this wouldn't really work very well.

    However, if you do sell physical products and have an actual address where you do this from this could yield some great results so customers can find you.

    Hei,

    Thanks all for your reply. "Everett" you're right, if you have an online store it's more difficult to list it on Google Places. But, if you have an online store automatically you have a firm, and that firm has an social adress, so you can list that. Anyway, I'll continue to post tips from my past experience.

    Whenever a customer comes to me to develop his website or to work on an SEO project, I create an account for him in Google Places. I particularly like this tool and believe it increases the visibility of a business on Google.

    I highly recommend everyone to use Google Places in their business!

    It looks like Google is dominating every nook and cranny of the internet. After their products such as Google Maps and Google Plus for their social network, now comes Google Places which I think is another good product. However I am afraid that it can go the way of Google Plus that closed shop a few months ago due to financial constraints which means that product was not really earning.
