How do I use pinterest for marketing purposes?

I'm looking to figure out how to use pinterest for marketing purposes. Any help with pinterest marketing would be greatly appreciated!

Now I've posted a few questions about social media platforms and how to use them. But now I need some help How do I use pinterest for marketing purposes? I'm venturing into new waters, those waters are pinterest marketing, and I need a few questions answered.

Is there a limit to how many times I can pin something? I'm more referring to the same image and not something similar to a recent pin. Will I get in trouble for pinning the same thing over and over? I'm asking because repetition is one of the keys to making a sale and if I'm using pinterest for marketing purposes I'll be wanting a good profit in the long run.

How do repins work exactly? Are they similar to retweets on twitter where someone comes to your image/profile and repins a pin you've done? Is pinterest basically twitter but for images?

What type of person usually uses pinterest besides business tyring to market their products? I would assume it's predominantly women since every time I hear someone using it, it's a girl (mainly my girlfriend looking up wedding dresses) or a friend who is also a woman. If my assumptions are correct, then I would assume marketing an automotive type website would not convert as well as a jewelry type website, right?

If I pay for an ad, is it shown in a good section or is it easily looked over? I hate it when I pay a premium for an ad and it's pushed to the side or the bottom of the page How do I use pinterest for marketing purposes? Having a good click through rate on my ad is ideal and the ad placement is a big factor in that.

Thanks,

Razzy

Here are some tips I found helpful.
  1. Opt for vertical images
  2. Use keywords in your description and keep it as short as possible
  3. Use keywords in board titles too
  4. Use social media channels to show your pins to a bigger audience
  5. Having a pinnable image is important as it draws more attention to the post
  6. Build links to your site or blog with each pin
  7. If you have a blog embed your pins there so as to get repins

and as you start using it you will get more used to it and come up with your own ideas for sure.

Pinterest is pin board style social book marking site. It is a great content discovery platform. Pinterest uses images to pin web contents. When you have good numbers of followers on Pinterest and continue to pin contents on Pinterest, they will be checking your links. This will bring traffic to your site.
Pinterest can also be used for affiliate marketing. You can pin affliate products and when someone clicks the pin and buys the product, you will earn commission.

I think that is the crux of the matter – having a good number of followers. From what I heard about Pinterest, it is usually the followers who give you the benefit when you pin something. But I agree that you should not be pinning the same item over and over because that is clearly spamming already. Just like any other marketing activity that you can do in social media, you have to be discretionary with your posts and being creative will have a payback.

Followers are important if you want to succeed with social media sites. You need a large fan following everywhere from facebook to twitter, linkedin, instagram, pinterest etc.
Pinterest is a good platform to do affiliate marketing because you can directly pin affiliate links and if someone checks your link and buys, you will earn money. If you do not have followers, it is quite impossible to receive traffic or generate sales.
