SEO question: Isgreat content that'sunrelated to yoursite's main contentstill good SEO?

The content of my Website
is tech support, design and
training. As a side job, I
drive the Zamboni at the
local ice arena. There is no
quality Zamboni training on
the WWW, according to a
Google search. I was
wondering if creating some
high-quality Zamboni
training within the content
area of my site, but leaving
the header/footer tech
support/design could help
my site with 'long tail' SEO?

Generally speaking, it is not a great idea to publish unrelated contents on your website. However, if you think the topic you want to cover has a great potential, you can publish it on your blog. However, instead of mixing the unrelated topic with your main contents, try to create a subdomain and publish your unrelated topics on the subdomain.

I don’t quite understand what a zamboni is but I am guessing that it is related to the ice skating rink. Or maybe that is the machine that maintains the smooth surface of the ice rink? Anyway, your website is all about tech support and training which means it is a technical website. That’s the niche of your website, okay? Putting in unrelated contents to your niche is not a good idea. It will be like a scatter-brained when compared with a person. And the regular readers of your website for technical support may be turned off with that zamboni content.
