How do you practice Meditation?

Being stressed out is a killer, and knowing what to do in stressful situations is a good thing.  When such situation arises I take some time off and go to a quiet place, first I pray and then I meditate. Actually praying is also a form of meditation.  I would focus on my breathing, thinking only one thought at a time, clearing my mind and focusing it on just one thing.

Do you practice meditation? How do you do it?

Learnung about meditation is one of the best things to have happened to me in recent times. Mediation connects your higher self with the universe. It's a serene place ti be. I meditate wherever I can. Even when it's noisy meditation helps drown the noise out. My nethod is to focus on my breathing, and then on specific thoughts, often always the things that I'm grateful for.

There are books written on meditation and you can find some of those online. The basic thing about meditating is finding that inner silence. The best and easiest way is to assume the meditation position, close your eyes, try as much as possible to feel relaxed and then just focus on your breathing. Many thoughts will run through yout mind. That's okay. Just remember to go back to focusing on your breathing. You can do this for 5 minutes a day when you first begin and go for longer times when you get the hang of it.

Instead of focusing on their breathing, some people focus on particular thoughts. You could try this method as you get better at meditating.

Yoga, is also a good exercise for meditation. You will eventually find your lightness and peace in this form of method. This will also gives you healthy lifestyle. I guess, there are gym that offers that service in your place.

I want ti try yoga but it is rare in our city and if there is, the sessions are really expensive.

Yes, I agree with you. In some instance, it is expensive and rare to find. I don't know if there are less experts for yoga. Since, the exercise is a bit sensitive. It requires flexibility of the body. It does need an expert. Let's hope for the possibility that you will have one in your area at a cheaper cost.

Meditation in simple terms is just focusing your thought on a single thing. It's thinking only of s single thought, while practicing breathing techniques.

I pray. It is also good to have a Bible verse to think about. Other forms of meditation have never helped me. However, prayer involves faith for a projected outcome and seems a positive stress killer for me. Today has been stressful and how anyone gets through some days wiithout prayer is beyond me.

Praying is not meditation because we chat the verses. Meditation is about breathing and focusing on breathing. So that's why it's kind of different. Prayer is form of relaxation of mind activity. That's what I have noticed.

Praying is a form of Still Meditation because you concentrate your thoughts on your prayer, you don't pray out loud, you pray in silence. The more focus you are in praying the more you feel happy and relaxed afterwards.

That's not how meditation works. Meditation is about letting go of thought. In prayer we think of god in thoughts. So not a connected concept in that case. Meditation and mindfulness focuses on breathing and less on god and other things.

You have a good ability to control your temper. That is more than meditation. Sometimes, it's good to throw punches to release anxiety and stress. A nice focus and knock your worry free. Yes, I do agree with you music is one of the best method to relax and be calm.

I have panic attacks or also know as anxiety attacks especially when I'm about to meet a lot of people due to my social anxiety which is very toxic. My heartbeats are fast, I got a hard breathing, my body heats up, I sweat too much but my fingertips are cold as ice.
This is the reason why I decided to practiced meditation and listened to music for calming but it did bot help me. Tge technique that helps me is making my heart race more which is the opposite. I have read somewhere that it's a technique of tricking our minds to get rid of anxiety and worries by exercising or for a instant cure I do atleast 5 jumping jacks. In this method, my mind will think that my heart is beating out loud not because of anxiety but because I exercise or vecause of sudden and fast movement.

I practice meditation in two ways: I either repeat certain words or I just imagine things. And I equally practice both simultaneously.

For instance, in my bid to maintain internal peace, I usually make out time to relax, repeating words like "there's peace here, every other thing is Alien. There's peace here, every other thing is foreign"; and as I do that, I simultaneously imagine my self in space, with nothing happening.

There are a number of health benefits with meditation. One of them is that it helps eliminate stress which is a problem for many people including me. If I feel stressed or feel the need to take a break from day-to-day activities, I go somewhere quiet and spend some alone time with myself. I just close my eyes and ponder about my purpose in this life. It usually takes around 5-10 minutes, but it helps me get my mind straight.

Gaining knowledge of a way to meditate and manage your thoughts is to find a quiet spot. That is quite easy however you need this to discern out how to meditate at home. Locating a quiet place lets in you to meditate without difficulty because without a spot that you may meditate at calmly, then you might not be able to meditate.

Right from the top executives working in companies to a housewife who works at home everyone does face the problem of stress. Even small children going to school these days are stressed out due to there studies and extracurricular activities. Doing regular meditation and yoga helps us to cope with this problem. I do follow a technique of Meditation called Vipassana. This technique teaches us the method of self-awareness which helps you in training the mind to remain in the present moment, not in the past, nor in the future. Vipassana has helped me immensely to tackle all kinds of stress and enjoy my life.

I do meditation when I have a headache or have been stressed from work. I usually go into a quite place where I can't be disturbed and find a place to relax my body either by sitting on a chair or lying on the bed. I would close my eyes and slowly take deep breathes in and out. As I exhale I chant just in my mind the word "relax". As I do this, I focus my attention starting from the top of my head, eyes, cheeks, jaw, down to my shoulders and down to the rest of my body. I do this for 10 to 15 minutes. My headache would go away faster than when I just take medicine for headaches.

Meditation is pondering the Word in our hearts, preaching it to our own souls, and personally applying it to our own lives and circumstances. It is how we sanctify our thinking and bring it into submission to Christ—taking every thought captive. Paul tells us in Romans 12How do you practice Meditation?o not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect (Romans 12:2).

Meditate on Scripture as You Go to Sleep at NightOne of the most critical times to meditate on God’s Word is as you go to sleep each night. In Scripture, there are many references to meditating on Scripture at this time. (See Joshua 1:8, Psalm 1:2, 63:6, and 119:148.)The quiet moments of preparing for sleep offer an ideal setting for contemplation and fellowship with the Lord. The thoughts that are on your mind as you go to sleep will be in your subconscious mind all through the night. They will strongly influence your attitudes the next day, consciously or subconsciously.

The Apostle Paul said, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you [live in you] richly in all wisdom” (Colossians 3:16). Meditation on Scripture will cause Scripture to “dwell in you” and become a source of wisdom in your mind, will, and emotions.Remember, meditation cannot be done in a hurry. It takes time. Doing studies on the meaning of a passage and committing it to memory prepare you to meditate on it. As you meditate, the Holy Spirit will teach you the ways of God through His Word.

Sometimes just imagining good positive scenarios that you want to happen in your life is enough meditation. I used to do this every night just before sleeping. I'd lie in bed and I'd imagine good things happening to me. I'd wake up less fatigued the next day compared to not doing it.

I like that. I think it's called affirmation. It's when you envision positive thoughts and scenarios. Focusing on what's positive will attract good things. Better than worrying about stuff all the time.

How do you practice meditation: I practice meditation, by doing it in a quiet place. By the help of a quiet place, I can think clearly and can make plan and decision carefully. It can help me exhale of the pain and hardships and let me inhale all the blessings I have received.

I do it also in a quiet place for me to have a peace of mind and do some breath taking activities so that I can feel relax. We should make our meditation as serious as possible because it can help us a lot to relieve stress and pan that we are experiencing at some time.

You can meditate on your own without guided meditation. Guided meditation helps you get started but real meditation is when you sit without any aid and simply practice in the present moment.

Meditation helps to clear your mind off things and gives you a better mental health. I've downloaded this app called Calm and it actually helped to do my motivation. I just grab my earphones, close my eyes, and listen to relaxing music and soothing voice on the app. I highly recommend this app for people who like to meditate.

I have heard a lot about meditation but i have never meditated because I've never been able to sit still long enough to meditate. I pray but I've never meditated. Perhaps one day, in the very distant future lol, I would learn to sit still long enough to meditate.

I did full body check and the results were negative and the doctor advised me to do meditation. A year later, my health improved.
