And I hope that you find them useful to you and you make use of them (in one way or another) to raise those all important funds for your startup idea. In part 5 of this series, I'll be talking about several more great, fun and creative ways/methods/things you can do to raise some funds with. So let's get started! 25+ Fun and Creative Ways to Fundraise Your Startup: Part 5

Fun & Creative Fundraising Ideal 16: Variety Show
Are there any hidden talents in your community? Some young or even old people with some magical skills and abilities to wow and impress the audience with? Well with a variety show you give them the chance to show off those skills, talents and abilities. Hosting and holding a variety show can not only give those people the chance to show off and showcase their own magical talents or anything else, thus helping them to succeed as well, but it can also prove to be a very lucrative fundraising method if you charge people entry fees to watch other people performing all of their talents, skills and abilities. What you'll need:

  • A venue or location you can hold the variety show like your local civic centre / town hall.
  • To advertise it and charge people to enter the show.
  • To award the winner with something at the end.
Fun & Creative Fundraising Ideal 17: Fancy Dress
Fancy dress nights can not only be a lot of fun for all of those that attend but it can also be a very profitable way to raise some funds for your startup too. As well as a way to gain some recognition and publicity for it. And whether you hold a themed fancy dress night, or just let people arrive in whatever they want! You could award a prize for the best dressed person or couple on the night. You would have to charge people a fee to enter the fancy dress night and you could also accept donations too. One thing you should do is put out some literature about your fundraising ideal that tells people about it and why they should donate, what their money will go towards etc. That will get you a lot more donations rather than just saying, please donate lol. 25+ Fun and Creative Ways to Fundraise Your Startup: Part 5

What you'll need:

  • A venue or location people can come to dressed in the must hilarious of costumes.
  • To advertise the night and collect a fee for people to enter it.
  • To award a prize at the end of the night for best dressed person/couple.
Fun & Creative Fundraising Ideal 18: Karaoke Night
Most people like to have a sing a long to their favorite songs. And hosting an official karaoke night will not only give them the chance to do that but could also be a good way to raise some funds for your startup idea too! You could arrange a fun karaoke night either in your own home, the local pub or town hall and then charge people a fee to take part in the karaoke singing.

What you'll need:

  • Somewhere people can come to to have a sing a long to their favorite tunes.
  • To advertise the night and collect entry fee payments.
Fun & Creative Fundraising Ideal 19: Fancy Dress / Karaoke
Why hold just a fancy dress shindig when you can hold a fancy dress night with karaoke!? This combines the best of both fancy dress nights and karaoke nights too. 25+ Fun and Creative Ways to Fundraise Your Startup: Part 5 It would work in exactly the same way. So what you'll need is to have a place you can hold the night, whether it's in your own home, someone else's or at the local town hall or even a local pub/club. Of course, the upside to renting out a venue like that is that you can have more people attend, the downside is that you'll probably, likely have to pay for it for the night and that would eat into your profit.

What you'll need:

  • Same as above really just to advertise, collect entry payments and award the best singer / dresser(s).
Fun & Creative Fundraising Ideal 20: Zumba Night
Zumba classes are a great way for people to have some fun while getting fit and healthy. They are great fun for people of all ages too young and old alike. So you could hold a sponsored Zumba night and charge people a fee to enter it. Or for something else a little harder but possibly more appealing to people, why not hold a sponsored aerobics or spin session. You and them would be bound to work up a sweat from it but more than that, you could charge people a fee to enter the Zumba class. That way they'll be helping a local business/cause while getting fit at the same time.

What you'll need:

  • As above, the same as any thing like this. Some area people can sit on mat in some room.
  • To advertise it enough to get enough people to attend to make something from it.
And that completes part 5 in this series and takes us up to 20 fun and creative fundraising ideas. I have a bunch more of these to do and the last ones should make for some entertaining reading even if you're not currently looking for fundraising ideas for your startup! 25+ Fun and Creative Ways to Fundraise Your Startup: Part 5

I think karaoke night would really do wonders. It is a nice and genuine idea, and it will surely get a lot of people interested. Be it for fun and singing or just good laughs. A really nice way to raise attention and gain some funds for your startup. Thanks for sharing!

Haha, if I organized karaoke night and sang there myself I think we'd raise exactly no money plus everybody would leave the large proximity of the event. My singing is beyond bad. However, if I didn't participate, I'd love to try and organize a good karaoke night. It sounds very fun and if it would help raise some funds then it's even better!

The Zumba option also isn't a bad idea since so many people love doing Zumba lately... as an activity and as a way of exercising. I never tried it myself though.

This is great. A year and a half ago friends and I tried a startup and we found it difficult to keep it up and give it a boost. This opens my mind to try to do things differently, as we try to make an application in which the people of a city were aware of the events and cultural activities of each week. Thank you.

I guess the Karaoke Night is one of the easiest in your list because I can already imagine the influx of attendance if that happens. Just in our neighborhood, Karaoke is very popular that you can hear their voices during weekends. With the elections that are coming in the month of May next year, I’m sure the politicians here are willing to be sponsors for the Karaoke Night in return for their exposure.
