Walking advertisements

Hire someone to be your walking advertisement, to walk up and down in front of your store or near the road to attract attention. This person could ride up and down in the elevators of tall buildings, stand at bus stops, wait at train stations, hang around in coffee shops. They might be dressed in a fun or unusual costume (holding your business sign) and would even engage in conversations with passer-bys. There's a shop locally that pays a young man to stand on the sidewalk with his billboard sign to drum up new business. I've never been into the shop. And, I always wonder if he is actually attracting attention by standing so close to the road. He looks very bored.

I have seen many do this as well. Does nothing for me. When they are standing there looking bored and smoking, or not even paying attention, it does not make me want to go to the store that bad.

I think that if you are going to have a walking advertiser you need to make sure they are doing it properly. Like tangee has stated, you should not have someone that is bored looking or doing something that could take away from the business.

We were in Seoul, South Korea last week. While dining in a bake shop, I noticed a walking advertisement. It's just unfortunate that the sign was in Korean so I couldn't read it. And the guy was walking fast that I was not able to take a picture - my hand was messy at the time because I was eating ice cream. But I think it is still effective especially if the location is a busy street like that main thoroughfare in Seoul.

This is a nice idea, never seen one before.Maybe because we don't do this in my country. Will have to tell a friend that owns a fast food joint, I'm sure this will be an effective marketing strategy to get more customer. It will be a fun way of generating customers.
