The 5-day after-delivery time needs to be reviewed. your take?

Since i joined SEOClerks, i have noticed that the buyer has about 5 days to review his job done, either to accept or reject it or have it edited.
To me, i strongly believe that this 5-day period is TOO MUCH because it is seriously delaying the time the seller's money to be available for withdrawal, even some buyers wont bother to review their order, hence keeping the seller money stuck for good 5 days.
3 days is just simply okay for them to review the product. other similar Marketplaces allow 3 days for review by the buyers after delivery.
Please i want to SEOClerks staff to look into this and see if they can reduce the time to 3 days so we can get our money in time. Five days is just TOO MUCH. your responses please?

Five days allow the buyer enough time to review the work. Some work may only take five minutes to review while other work/services may take days or hours. For example, if you hired someone to write a 200 word article for you, it may take you five minutes to read it and accept the work.

On the flip side, you may hire someone to analyze your onsite SEO. The report they send you could be massive and take several days to review, especially if you need to send that to another company member for review (such as your SEO guy or web coder).

Or you may hire a coder to redevelop portions of your website. This could take the coder months to complete and when they deliver the work, you want to test every single aspect of the features they coded. You probably want a few other people to test it as well.

Additional factors to consider are working hours and holidays/weekends. If you deliver something on a Friday and the buyer is off/not working on Saturday/Sunday (but didn't review it on Friday), three days would mean it clears on Monday before they had a chance to review your work. Five days gets around this issue as well.

I'm an avid buyer of many different types of services and I don't get on every day to check what's going on. There are times I can't log in for a week because I'm out of time on business. When I get back I'll check everything and yeah, some get auto accepted and I wish they didn't, but I understand why. Some services I missed, that got auto approved, were horrible and someone walked away with my money and wouldn't respond to me through private message.

So my opinion is that the 5 day waiting period is perfect, it's not too long and it's not too short. If it were set at 3 days then I'd miss a lot of my orders and they would get auto approved. I'm not saying that's a bad thing though since I usually order from well known members of SeoClerks and have been ordering from them for a long time. If it auto completes and I message them later on, they are more than happy to fix a banner or add some extra things to the service that were not there in the report.

I consider myself a seasoned buyer and I'm sure people have problems with new buyers not responding right away. But if you're going to get your money after 5 days if the buyer doesn't respond, I don't see what the problem is. You're here to sell a service and build a reputation (at least we hope that's why you're here) so waiting 5 days shouldn't be a huge deal. I know that new sellers are eager to make that first withdraw, but if you're struggling for money, you shouldn't start a new service and complain about the 5 day waiting period if someone doesn't respond ;)

Hi chetaseo this issue I bring on the table more than couple of years ago and I got answer by Admin. And I said also same things why 5 days for reviewed and why not 3 days? And from buyer point of view Ii looks like enough and if you see from the seller point of view, it may look too much time where other similar site just give 3 days for reviewed. So, it is great issue. But I would like to say SEOclerks is different to contrast with other marketplace and they give top priority to make satisfy all user not only buyer but also seller too. And if I am not wrong this time was 8 days firstly and now it become 5 days and it is very good enough time for review. So, time is come to make proper decision and I must believe Jordan will take right decision what he think best for us. Because, I never see other marketplace grow up graph like SEOclerks, within 5 years it is now one of the biggest marketplace in the planet.

Thanks by Ajlancer

it is seriously delaying the time the seller's money to be available for withdrawal,

If you care about the buyer, not just getting paid, you'll allow them ample time to review and consider the delivery, rather than rushing the order closed. It's the buyer's money after all, so take that into consideration.

Hello,
This is also quite a good reason to level up your SEOClerks account. Level 1 users have the longest clearing period (I believe it's 10 or 14 days but I'm not sure). Already on user level 2 there's a huge difference and the clearing period is set to 4 measly days. As a user level 3 you'll get paid one day after order completion. So you'll save time by reaching higher user levels for starters. However, this isn't about clearing time and I understand that..

I personally have never had any problems with the "review during 5 days thing", before an order is automatically marked as delivered. With that being said, I do personally believe that you would be able to review anything in less than 5 days, as you can during the 5 days. Sure, some of the services being sold, like SEO related ones for instance, won't be able to rank the clients sites better or anything like that during this review process, but, they wouldn't be able to do that in the current 5 days either. However, like robertman11 stated, it depends on the things being delivered. It could obviously take 10 or 15 days to review your deliveries too.. So fixating the amount of days based on "what's being delivered" is in my opinion a quite vague reason. (However, I do not believe that they have set this to 5 days because of this.)

And like Beverly stated above too. If you care about your clients, deliver high quality and make sure you leave them satisfied.. More than half of them should leave you feedback and this "review period" would decrease radical.

During a "case study" I had, I came to the conclusion that more than 50% of my clients would leave me feedback upon delivery.

Best Regards,
hitmeasap

I think 5 days is good. Sometimes as a buyer, I need more time to check quality of the work. I know it can be a bit annoying to wait for 5 days and then the buyer ends up not providing a review. However, I think 5 days is fair. You will get the money eventually; it is just a few days more wait. It is important that buyers are fully satisfied with your work and giving 5 days to raise any concerns will definitely give the advantages when there are disputes in the future. For example, when I buy SEO services, I like to wait for a few days to see that my backlinks are still there before leaving a review so having a 5 days wait period is important.

@masterA, 3 days is still very much enough to review the job and be satisfied with it or not. thank you very much for your positive response. even 3 days is okay to know if backlinks are for real or not.

Yeahh depends on customer or buyer..if they wish to mark completed you dont need to wait more 5 days,,it immediately changes in to cleared balance as long you have archieved level higher

what of if they do not bother to even check back?. also isn't 3 days enough for them to review their job done if they are serious about it? Taking 5 days is almost a whole week just to get your money for withdrawal.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Void
Yeah, that is a good point. If the buyer marks it completed it can be a whole lot sooner, even one day. The question is, how do you get them to review and mark it completed?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

chetaseo
That is a very big question. Getting them to review and complete all depends on how serious they are of which some of them are not, even if the delivery time is just 2 days or even less. anyway thank you for your input into this matter. God bless you sir.

I am a buyer here and not a seller. I usually approve the work done within 1 working day, unless the work is finished on a weekend, then I will approve on the Monday making it 3 days. However I almost always use the same person and the same service. I trust this seller so much that I am happy to not even have to approve his work.

So if I was using a new seller I might not approve it immediately and take more time to check everything. I do think that 3 days would be more than sufficient, but I would make that 3 workings days only, so if the work is completed on a weekend the total time would end up being 5 days.

I do think though that if you get regular clients that they would approve the work quicker? Gain trust and a good working relationship with your clients and it should go smoother.

From my side there is no reason ever for me to withhold approval. I pay as soon as I order so it is not like holding back approval has any benefit for me in any way.

As a seller, even in the programming field, I want my work to be flawless. I want the buyer to use those 5 days to test the script out, and to find any issues the script may have that I overlooked. You can use those 5 days to your advantage, rather than by seeing it as a disadvantage because you don't get your money as quick. If you're only here for the money surely you would want those days lowered, however if you're here to build your portfolio, or even your build clientele you want those 5 days. I do NOT see the 5 day wait being a disadvantage, only to those who want their money as quickly as possible.

Some sellers delivered their orders almost instantly, as fast as they possibly can. A buyer may accidentally positively review the order saying there is an issue with the order, and if it gets completed after that suggested 1 day then you probably won't fix the order and then withdraw the earnings. This is such bad business practice on many levels, it's almost in the same category as scamming. So please use the 5 day wait as a means to offer your buyers top notch support, and they will come back to you.

As we are sellers on seoclercks for a long time, with more than 600 completed orders, we believe too that 5 days is too much. 3 days would be ok

Most of the freelancer sites and even shopping sites care more about the buyers than the seller because it is the buyer that spends money and the site earns when there is a purchase. Therefore, I agree with the 5 days review time even though I am only a seller. The buyer has rights because it is he who spends money.

Yes I agree that 5 days is a bit too long. Actually I think I have to agree with you that on other sites I know of it was 3 days. I guess they had a good reason to set it at 5 days, which maybe someone responsible could clarify or explain. What really makes me angry is that sometimes I get a buyer who places an order and asks me to do it as quickly as possible, but then he ends up not even bothering to leave a review. Or, you can see that the buyer got the completed order and saw it as it shows when he was last online, and he does not mark the order completed personally but leaves the whole 5 days to pass until it gets automatically completed. These instances irritate me.

As per my response, it depends on what is being delivered. Other sites may be offering simple services that take very little time to review.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

chetaseo
seoclerks offers the simplest of services as compared to all other similar sites like gigbucks, fiverr. etc and even at a very cheap rate for as low as $1.

You could always send the buyer a message asking them to complete it if they are happy.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Beverly
Why not send a polite private message to that buyer to ask him to rate and complete your order? If the buyer wants to complete the order then and there before the five day period, they'll do so and if not, then they won't.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

chetaseo
Most of them will not respond to the private messages that i do sent them. only few do respond. they just place an order and leave without checking back.

I don't know if this is possible for you but have you ever thought of editing your services and increase your delivery time? What I mean is that your current delivery time might be set to three (3) days for instance and you deliver in time each and every time you get an order. However, by increasing this, to let's say four (4) or perhaps even five (5) days, and STILL deliver within two (2) or three (3) days would most likely result in super satisfied clients.. And, that would obviously also increase your chances of getting positive feedbacks.. And when feedback has been given, the delivery has been made and you'll only have to wait for the clearing period. The way I see it, this could benefit you in several ways. With that being said, you might also get less sales by doing this, as most buyers are eager to get what they've paid for as soon as possible.. But it might be worth a shot?

hitmeasap

I think this is an awesome idea. I always notice when someone delivers ahead of time and it always makes me happy. I will go out of my way for someone that gives me really good service.

ok bro,. i have noted your points ,.i will not try to increase my delivery time because that will surely scare away so many buyers from me and make me lose my present and future clients for i am speaking out of experience since i have been in seoclerks for more that a year now and also there are so many competitve sellers too offering almost the same products at even lesser price.. increasing delivery time is NOT a good option for me. but i am still against the 5-day period.

I understand your reasoning and that's also why I stated in my previous reply that it might not be a good solution for you. No matter what you do, you'll always meet people who's just not gonna leave you feedback, neither positive or negative. However, the only things you can affect as a seller is:
  • Delivery time.
  • The services you offer.
  • The quality of your services.
  • If you are contacting your clients during and after the delivery has been made. (To make sure they understand that they'll have "after delivery support" etc.)
  • The price of your services.
  • And finally, HOW you deliver. (what you include within your delivery message etc.)

All of these things adds up and makes you a professional seller. People are looking for quality but also a personal relation. Personal relations are utmost important to gain recurring customers. Obviously there's also people who's just looking for those $1 services as they are what I would called "treasure hunters". And that being said, some of these people will never leave you feedback because they "don't care" enough about it meanwhile the other half cares enough about feedbacks, ratings and relations. So no matter the price you charge, you will always meet buyers from both sides of the fence.

As this topic has become a very hot one, I'm sure Jordan will consider this.

@hitmeasap, i also hope that jordan will put it into consideration too. The admins and moderators should try invite him to this place to see for himself.
something needs to be done about the period but if the seoclerks staff choose to allow ''status quo'' to remain. no problem, i will abide by it. Thanks hitmeasap for your concern. you are highly blessed.

@elitewriter,. exactly bro, that is the point. you have seriously nailed it. i am also facing the same issue too. besides i don't know why some persons will make your comments thumbs down. really pathetic. most buyers are really guilty of it, they login and refuse to mark your order complete and give you positive feedback.

Again, focus on your customer's best interest, not your own. Would it be helpful for your customer if they had fewer days to review an order? As said before, some buyers don't live in their inbox, so those people won't realize an order has been delivered. They just enter their info and logout and don't come back for days. That person is going to need a little extra time to catch up once he logs in again.

Just stay busy with other orders and you'll barely notice the passing of five days. The more completed orders you have in the pipeline, the more of a steady stream of income you'll have to depend upon.

I agree with you to an extent but if the buyer are really serious with the job, most of them will check regularly to see if it has been delivered successfully afterall browsing it can be done anywhere and anytime using a mobile device within seconds for you don't need to set up a desktop computer anymore before you can access the internet. Besides 3 days is not really fewer as you imply, it is just the normal ideal period that is ok for after-delivery activities that may lead to feedbacks.
