Why you don't have to rank a website to bank from it

Everyone is talking about how you need to be #1 in the Google searches in order to make money online.  I'm here to tell you that there are plenty of websites that don't rank at all in the SERPs and they do just fine making thousands each day from new and returning clients.  Sure, getting to the top of the rankings within all of the search engines is an amazing thing because you'll have a ton of sales flooding in, but it's not always a necessary thing in order to be successful.  Think about it, how many times have you seen a startup website or company be successful almost over night?  It doesn't happen often, but it does happen if they have someone working for them that knows how to configure PPC campaigns, put up the right banners on niche websites, be active on social media platforms, and acquire referrals from their customers.

If you're just starting off on your website journey, you won't rank within the search engines quickly, so you'll need to figure out how to make money without the help of Google.  To do that, you need to learn how to target people who are interested in what you have, without relying on top rankings within the search engines.  There are various ways to do this, and I will cover the methods that I target every time I launch a new website, and they are:

PPC campaigns on Facebook, Google, Yahoo!, and Bing
The beauty of a PPC campaign is that you're buying top placements on major platforms where billions of people are searching every single day.  Depending on your niche, you could be spending as little as $0.01 per click up to $500 or moer per click, so knowing what you're doing will always bring in some additional sales.

Depending on your niche, and your budget, you will need to choose just one platform that you want to target.  If you're selling something, a service or product, you can usually go with any of the PPC platforms but Google Adwords is usually your best bet.  This is because people who will end up seeing your ad have searched for something related to it or are looking specifically for what you offer.  If you're running a blog and publishing a lot of content, then selling a class or service, you will likely want to target Facebooks PPC platform because you can target people based on what they like and even their previous purchasing patterns.  I usually target Yahoo! and Bing after I'm already targeting Adwords and Facebook because the Yahoo!/Bing combo don't get nearly as much traffic as just Facebook or Google.

Banner advertising through BuySellAds
You can run banner ads through all of the other platforms like Facebook, Adwords, and BingAds but BuySellAds specializes in it and has a decent amount of websites getting millions of visitors each month.  You can actually look through the platform and select a website within your niche based on how much traffic it's getting, the types of ads it allows, and even how you want to pay for the ad (monthly or CPM).  There's no CPC method like the big PPC platforms, but that's alright because spending $100 on an ad you found through BuySellAds will usually get you more clicks than if you were to spend the same amount on Facebook ads, Adwords, or BingAds.

Social media marketing on various platforms
We all know what social media is and how to use it for ourselves, but we don't always think of it as one of the best ways to boost our sales for free.  You can literally build a community surrounding your industry and link your own website to the community, making your website the authority within the niche itself.  People will see your links, click through, and sign up for your services or purchase your products.

You can post to open groups in order to drive traffic to your website, which will increase your sales, but you'll need to do it strategically by building up your own authority within the group before you start linking to everything of your won.  Provide awesome information to anyone that asks a question, and don't link to your services every single time.  The moderators will notice your comments and sometimes they will even ask you to moderate their community, which gives you instant trust and the ability to link whenever you want as long as it's not the same thing over and over again lol.

Referral traffic is amazing
In order to boost your sales without top rankings, you will need to get some referral traffic from previous buyers.  Referral traffic converts very well because they trust you before they even land on your website, since their friend or family member referred them.

If you can set up a discount to any customer who refers someone, and that referal makes a sale, you will turn your customers into brand ambassadors and they will try to send you plenty of traffic if they truly like your products or services Why you don

In Conclusion
You don't always have to be ranked on top of the search engines in order to make thousands of dollars each and every month.  You just need to do the right marketing, and the sales will start to come in gradually.  If you do everything right, you might actually get your rankings boosted, and that will just be a win win in the end Why you don  If you go through this list and implement everything I talked about, you should notice a sales increase without having top rankings, or any rankings at all for that matter.  You can start getting money coming into your account through referral sales, banner marketing, SMM, and even PPC campaigns.  Sure, the majority of what I talked about in this discussion costs money to make money, but you shouldn't be afraid of that if you want to take your business serious.

This post is like a ray of hope for so many who are trying to make money online. Because many, including me, felt like “Rank #1 in Google search?? That's impossible!” It's a mountain you just can't climb. But then a friend helped me focus and realize that “Wait a minute! There is no hard and fast rule that says you have to be on Page 1 to earn income from your online work.” Your tips are very helpful guidelines and encouraging.

I have noticed the obsession of some website owners for their site to be on page 1 and be ranked number 1. Maybe they thought that being first on the list is a guarantee to get the most traffic from the search engines. But on the contrary, it is not exactly the ranking that matters most if your rank is in the top 5 or even in the top 10 because searchers look for the most relevant to their need and not on the ranking in the search list.

That's quite a bold statement. To what degree is that true? Anyway, I had considered this method of advertising, but I thought it might be massively or somewhat inferior to PPC.

We all know what social media is and how to use it for ourselves, but we don't always think of it as one of the best ways to boost our sales for free. You can literally build a community surrounding your industry and link your own website to the community, making your website the authority within the niche itself. As mentioned in at least one other thread, Facebook posts don't reach most page and/or group members, not even of your own stuff. You have to pay for that. However, though, it's normally a good price compared to quality PPC.

Some great tips and points. I'm sure a lot of people will benefit from reading this because I do think that a lot of people tend to worry about ranking high on Google and forget that it's not the most important thing in the world. There are other ways to make money from your site.

I do believe the article above is more of an advantage to new site owners who aren't well versed in how to effectively use their sites in making money by thinking that it's mostly Google ranking that would make them monetize their site when there are so many ways they can benefit from their sites without needing to worry about ranking.

The main purpose of having high rank is getting traffic. Since it is difficult to rank on the top, you can look for alternate ways to drive traffic. Search engine marketing, social media marketing, and email marketing are three proven methods to drive traffic to your site. You can do PPC campaign with adword or facebook to drive traffic. You can send emails to your potential clients and drive traffic. Traffic is the key to generate revenue. Therefore, you will have to think about other ways to generate traffic and not just through SEO.

Yes, like vinaya says that it comes down to traffic. It is one of the many things to consider when you are getting the type of options you need. A PPC campaign may be one of the best ways to get the options that need. I mean worry about traffic more than getting a high ranking on google. It should pay off.

Without traffic I doubt that any website would fetch any sort of income to the site owner no matter the amount of job the individual has done already on the site. So making generating traffic a priority goes a long way in helping one achieve one's financial goals as a site owner.

Yes, I think everyone does recognize that. I guess the best way to go about getting it, is something that website owners can struggle with from time to time. Luckily, we have people like Razzy and others to help with this.

There is a lot of competition, therefore, it is really difficult to get into #1 rank or on the first page of Google and other search engines in a given keyword. Even if you rank # or get into the first page of search engines in a given keyword, it is difficult to remain on the spot forever. Rank always fluctuates. Well, this not mean you should stop focusing on rank. You should, of course, focus on rank and work on your SEO strategy to get a higher rank, however, you must not undermine the importance of other methods of getting traffic and driving sales.

For me, the name of the game is promoting in social media. If you cannot do it yourself, you can hire a virtual assistant to do it for you. The social media is one of the best areas to do your marketing campaigns because it is rife with the audience that you are seeking. Can you imagine promoting your business interest in all the major social media network? Take for instance Facebook where you can have as much as 5,000 friends. That’s a lot of audience to speak of.

The problem with such random Facebook account is that while their reach overall could be quite large, the likelihood of that being of much help for many is nearly zero, because it's obvious that those people have different points of interests. That's why actually focused advertising is much more useful.

You're right, you don't *need* to rank well to make bank, but the options listed here are either costly (although paying some to earn is always a positive thing for ROI), or relies too much on self-work and pure chance. Generally though I advice people to start off with paid ads, because then they get instant results, and afterwards just keep on working for their SERP's while already earning.

Thanks for this article, now I know why some of them using the PPC and wiling to pay just to get into the high rank, and I think the social media is still best mode of ranking, because it's easy to advertise there, just share you link to every group you have. I think I need to study more just to understand this.

I think in order to bank from the website one has to reach the people who either buy or click. I don't think PPC is a worth gamble in the time when you are not making money. PPC should be a priority when you are having something to sell and have made some level of revenue. Then things can be lot different in that case. I think we have to understand how that part works out in such case.

While showing up on the first page of google is still one of the best ways to drive up views on your site, there are a lot of alternative ways today in this growing online industry and so while Google can still be a goal in terms of the success of your site, it is easy now to increase your traffic with social media and PPC.

THE BEST, MOST CORRECT AND MOST EFFECTIVE ARTICLE IVE SEEN SO FAR !

You've got 3 out of 4 (Social Media Marketing, Referral Marketing) the rest is zero to 1 in my book.

Rankings is more effective for established and big businesses. Results can be seen faster.

For Startups and Small Businesses you have to concentrate on Marketing and the easiest and fastest way is to tap Social Platforms and funnel them to your sites. Banner Adverts is a part of this.

Referral Marketing works together with social media marketing and funnelling. EX. Funnelled traffic must always be motivated and guided to become Affiliates.

The best tips discussed here in the article above which I found 100% effective is social media marketing on various platforms and the use of referral traffic to boost your activity outcome.

These two options are indispensable for me when it's comes to my webmaster work, they both help build a good client base which in turn becomes my service patronizers.

I'm not a believer of pocket paid traffic it's usually fake traffic and fake traffic is bad traffic you'll just spend your money. It's better to some SEO and fully concentrate in getting your content better. It's better to spend your money on making your site the best it can be and or spending it to have very good if not great content. Logic is if you have something good then traffic will follow.
