Building a website isn't as difficult as it sounds

A lot of people getting into websites for blogging, making money online, their company, or building them for clients might not know what to do right away.  You could think that it's difficult to get a website up and running if you've never had a website before, but in reality, it's not that difficult to do if you know a few things.  I myself love WordPress because I'm a horrible programmer, I actually don't consider myself a programmer because I don't know enough to even get a basic javascript coded up lol Building a website isn  By using WordPress I can avoid having to be a programmer, or even a designer, because everything is already coded up for me and I can usually do a drag and drop type website that allows me to customize whatever I want. There are big corporations like Wix and Squarespace that allow you to do a drag and drop type website, but they are limited because you can't use them on your own hosting.  This means you don't really have access to your code and you will likely have a footer link to their homepages if you're not paying a premium for your "hosting".  If you pay for a simple and cheap $4 a month hosting plan, you can then upload your own WordPress theme and customize it however you want Building a website isn  Of course, it will take some time to figure out how it all works, but everything to do with websites has a learning curve so you might as well get used to it now.  What you need to know...
Setting Up Your Hosting
Hosting can be a tricky thing to purchase because of all the numbers and limitations that show up when you're trying to pick the best plan for you.  If you're just starting off, you won't usually need a large hosting package and you should be just fine with the cheapest shared hosting plan that is offered by the hosting company you're wanting to sign up with.  Think of it this way, if you outgrow your shirt, you buy a new one and wear it right?  You don't just wear the same shirt even if you outgrow it, you replace it with a bigger one so it feels better and works for you.  Hosting is the same way, you can outgrow your shared hosting plan and upgrade to a bigger one.  Sometimes the hosting company will transfer your website for you but usually, you'll have to move it on your own.  If you know what you're doing, just transfer the files to your new hosting account and change the nameservers if needed.  If you don't know what you're doing, hire a programmer to do the work for a few bucks and they can transfer it relatively quick Building a website isnPicking your hosting can be difficult because they all say they're the best.  I recently changed gears and now put a lot of my websites, and my clients' sites, on NameCheap because they have some of the best support I've worked with in a while.  I strongly urge people to avoid GoDaddy because their servers are garbage lol.Custom Design Misconceptions
You don't need a custom design to be seen as the best in the world in your industry!!!!!  I hate it when a potential client says "If I don't have a custom design, I can never make as much money as my competition" which is so wrong.  Some clients even think that they need a fully custom design in order to rank better in the search engines, which is a huge misconception that is probably being pushed by design companies lol.  Having a great design that is 100% custom is always a nice thing, but it's not always a necessary one.  I have a few custom designs, but only because they were initially working through a WordPress theme and after they showed potential and profits, I hired a designer and programmer to do a custom design.  Even then, after a website is profitable, I don't always set up a custom design because it's not needed.  Most of the time you can brand a website and company that uses a WordPress theme because each theme can be customized for your niche and not many other businesses will be using it.  This means you're still going to be unique and custom in the eyes of your visitors since they haven't seen a theme like yours before.Using Wordpress and Premium Themes
When you use WordPress, you're uploading a content management system in order to start blogging.  But what a lot of people don't know is that Wordpress, which was originally a blogging platform, has evolved into a full-fledged website system that can make you look like a professional overnight Building a website isnSure, you can still run your website simply as a blog and make some money, but WordPress is so advanced today that you can set up whatever you want and dominate a niche.  You can hire a person to do a custom WordPress theme, but all you really need is a premium theme with your own images in order to be taken as a professional within your niche Building a website isnI like using ThemeForest when I'm in the market for a new theme because they tend to be cheaper.  Now, don't think that cheaper is bad because when it comes to ThemeForest it just means they aren't taking as much per sale from the designer compared to other big theme selling marketplaces like templatemonster.  You can always go over to templatemonster and purchase a theme, but you'll likely pay twice as much as you could if you just went over to ThemeForest lol.Adding Content is Simple
Since you now have WordPress setup on your website, you can easily add content to it.  You will basically be adding content to your blog and publishing it.  You could also make new pages and link them into your menus, making the content more of an integral part of your website and not a blog post, but that's not really needed.  Posting to your blog will be easier than making a new page since it's set up for publishing content.  You will also need to optimize your content in order to get higher rankings within the search engines.  If you're not optimizing your content, you're just leaving money on the table since you won't usually rank for the keywords you want to.  Focus on your titles, descriptions, header tags, alt tags, and keyword density in order to have the best content possible added to your website.  After a bunch of posts, you will notice some traffic flooding into your website, without you having to pay a single penny for it Building a website isnIn Conclusion
Setting up a website isn't as difficult as a lot of people think it is.  Sure, you can hire a programmer and designer thousands of dollars to set up a custom designed website, but that's not always necessary.  You can easily set up a WordPress website with a premium theme and then customize it with your own images.  No one will know the difference between your theme and a custom design unless they know where to look, which many people don't Building a website isn  Even if people know you're using WordPress, they won't discredit you since WordPress powers roughly 50% of the websites online today lol Building a website isnRemember to follow me!https://www.seoclerks.com/user/RazzyThanks!Razzy

If you know what needs to be done (depending on the project this may not be so easy)... Well, it really not as difficult as it seems, but this activity is still seen as a seven-headed monster by millions of people (mainly because it's a very minimalist activity where small details make all the difference).

You are right with the monster because there are so many who spent for a new website but didn’t last for even a year due to varied reasons. But one reason that stands out is the ignorance of the website. They thought that a website can gather readers automatically and that they don’t need to do marketing. One site owner even said that his site is not for business so why the need for marketing his site?

I'm grateful for this post considering that I've been looking for ways to own a personal website where I can get things done on a daily basis.

I really need to get on the WordPress wagon! I have been using blogspot and need to convert my blogs over to a better provider. However, at the same time, I've been getting good traffic for a while now, and the templates at blogspot are easy to manipulate and totally free, especially since I am just a content-driven guy with my writing and the writing of others which I publish and support. It is easy to set up sites as this--what's hard is presenting and creating consistently good content on a regular basis in order to keep the audience coming back.

I would definitely encourage you to switch over to WordPress. I think that WordPress also has some free option but obviously, the domain name isn't ideal. It is better for you to simply get a domain name that you will love.

At least give it a try and see. You have hundreds of free amazing templates and high-quality plugins.

Tronia,
I hear you! I am looking into it--I was actually gonna work on this this past week but family and holiday stuff for Thanksgiving threw my work schedule off a bit. Having more templates to choose from would definitely be appealing to me, and I feel as if i have exhausted all of the options I would be interested where I am currently building my blogs. I need to get with the times! I have been needing to update my blogs for a while, but I guess I am just hesitant because some part of me is afraid I will lose readers by changing over. That might just be my own paranoia though.

Like Tronia has said, I would also encourage you to move over to Wordpress. It's just so much better especially when you compare it to Blogspot. Once you start using Wordpress, you will realise what you have been missing because it just makes everything easy. They also have thousands of templates and plugins which means you can do almost anything with a Wordpress site

I've been wanting to experiment more anyway, and this might also be the little kick I need to get the passion going about my blogs again. U am really interested in exploring the plug-ins--that sounds cool. Thanks everyone here for your advice.

I agree these days its so easy to make a website and most of the web hosting providers provide and install script where you can install WordPress with no knowledge. And using WordPress is pretty self-explanatory. It's so easy to use it that a small child could set up a WordPress website. And like I said in another thread WordPress powers 50% of the websites on the internet today!

Building your own website, blog or forum is so easy now, especially when you compare it to how it was a few years ago. Most people now can easily start their own site and even move their business online without any trouble at all. The fact that there are so many tutorials available and how easy it is to use content management systems have made everything so easy.

I always tell people, if you ever want to get into programming, digital marketing or anything else in the online industry firsts start a website, start a blog, do everything yourself and see how it goes.
Of course, Wordpress is the way to go and you will be learning a little something from everything, starting with buying a domain name, host and installing WordPress to making small design changes, modifying certain features and fixing bugs.

Of course, you won't be an expert at everything, but at least you will figure out what you like. I've stopped at SEO because this is what I liked the most, but I'm still capable of managing my own WordPress website, free of bugs and with perfect on-page SEO.

So yes, it may be easy, but if you aren't a perfectionist by nature, you will have a lot of problems and you will leave a lot of stones unturned.

I still remember how scared I was when bought my first domain. I didn't know where or how to start. Luckily, I found a ton of helpful articles online which made the whole process so much easier.

I bought the domain that I wanted then got a really nice deal from one of the hosting companies. Then I simply installed the WordPress onto it. If you run into problems most of the hosting companies will be more than happy to assist you.

WordPress is definitely the way to go if you are a beginner or not. It makes building the website easy!

Yes, building a website is not very difficult. The most difficult part is building traffic.
In order to build traffic, you need to optimize your website for search engines by adding keywords, meta tags, meta descriptions. You also need to optimize your contents by adding keywords and having a long tail search term as the title. You then need to build backlinks from reputed sites.
Once you have done the SEO, you need to start promoting your website through search engine marketing and social media marketing.

WordPress makes things lot easier. And also setting things up and then extension them is not going to be hard. You can see that most of the solutions for the wordpress are out there and open. So it's surely something worth checking out. So if you are developing website or the blog. Then you should consider that for sure. Another thing is that wordpress based developers are plenty. And you can learn a lot of things around from the wordpress and who knows may even work as a freelancer.

Certainly having a site is not difficult especially if you are starting out with the free domain, you don't even need money at first, just have your google account and your blog starts running in no time. When I started blogging, I created my blog myself from start to finish even as a novice. So what you listed up there is just what makes a site and creation are over in minutes.

Building a website isn't as difficult as it sounds really because there are web design and site builder tools that are being used now. I just created a WordPress website some days ago and this looks great and professional, whereas I am not a web design specialist. I never read Computer Science or Engineering anywhere, but just made use of those tools to build and design my new website.

From scratch, I completed the design and successfully published without using any programming language whatsoever, though the tool writes the HTML codes for the contents and images automatically.

These days it really isn't too difficult to build a website anymore. A lot of hosting services even provide great templates now for people to just make sites in less than a day. Probably the most time consuming way is only if you need something specific or customized, but most of the time people really just want their site to look like, and look as good as everybody else's, and you really could accomplish that with just templates and paid website builder services.

These days there are so many do it yourself services and of course Wordpress that it seems like the options are virtually unlimited. I guess it is something that many people will look to do and toy around with. Website design is something that most people can master.

The one click installation has made our work very easy. Click install and sit back to see your website online. But the hardest part is generating cotent
n. So, I think building a blog is easy but helping blog live is difficult.

Yes building a website it not difficult but it requires tons of works to make a website success on the internet.
To obtain that, you need to invest more time or even very much money for it.
Beside, maintaining a website is not an easy task though.

I have two suggestions which can give you a shortcut to building your own site.

Do you need hosting?

No, not if you use Blogger or Facebook. These two platforms are stable. Downtime is negligible. And the cost? Nothing. That's right. You can use Blogger or Facebook for free.

Do you need to build a website?

Again, no, if you are using Blogger or Facebook. They have the structure already there. Yes, you can tweak it a bit here and there, to personalise your page, but don't spend too much time on the tweaking. It's the content which brings in the visitors. Concentrate on the content. Make your content something which people will come back for. Again and again.

I have been reading Wordpress and most of what I had come across are positive remarks for the convenience of using it. I have to admit that I’m not really techie when it comes to websites but I know that I have to learn someday especially because I have plans in the near future to put up my own blog and website. So maybe it is high time to learn of Wordpress operations.

Yes, building a website is not as difficult as it sounds. I just created a WordPress website and have begun building it with keyword-rich contents all along whereas, in few years back, when I was told about creating a WordPress website, I would be so skeptical and scared, seeing it as something I can never do. Recently, I came across a money making platform where I received the kind of training I have never received anywhere in life about website creation and development

No, creating a website is not difficult. But, a person does need some tech savvy. I am consulting a local business association that is looking to build a website. These are smart, successful people. But, I could be talking a foreign language.

Building a website isn't as difficult as most people think. Gone are the days when people would have to learn programming before they could build a website. Nowadays, it's not as difficult as that anymore, if you know how to use a site builder tool. As you type the normal text and do graphics, the tool automatically changes everything to HTML.

Wordpress does simplify matters and YouTube can take you through the tricky parts. The problem is time as well as writing ability. I would rather employ someone and only do the checking/fine tuning than doing the groundwork myself. I also find that if I stare at something for too long, I don't "see" it anymore - that's where spelling errors creep in. Thanks for the tip on GoDaddy!

You are right. You don't necessarily need to hire a programmer to build a website for you. At first, I was reluctant to use Wordpress. It is my friend who actually convinced me that this is the best platform for blogging. I have been using Wordpress for some time now and never really had any issues. Moreover, there are many tutorials available online nowadays. Things are definitely much easier nowadays.

One click install with an application uploader is normally all that's needed. However, though, some stuff doesn't work with the uploader, like say, premium forum software (XenForo, VB etc.). In that case, you need to understand how to set up a basic database, as well as either cPanel or FTP file uploading. Anyway, there is also other stuff that an uploader won't help you with like themes. However, some software like WordPress and Simple Machines (SMF), have uploaders by default.
