Your logo design needs to match your audience in order to be seen as professional

When it comes to logo design, you need to make it look like what your audience expects it to.  You can't just put up any type of logo design and call it a day, it needs to match not only your overall theme, but your audience as well.  Making your own logo can be tricky if you don't have plenty of design hours into photoshop or other types of software that are similar.  For this reason I prefer to outsource my work to Sajeewa here on SEOclerks.com.

When I'm getting a logo made for my website there are a few different things that I think of before submitting my order.  I will think of my overall websites design and how to match up the logo well, the color scheme, the audience I'm trying to target and if it's trying to be professional or friendly.  In this discussion I will cover all of those points so that you have a better understanding of what you need to do when it comes to having your logo be the best for what you're doing.

Your Design
Your overall website design means a lot when it comes to your logo.  The reason it matters is because you can have a super modern looking website but have a garbage logo and it'll seem like you're not as professional as you say you are.  On the other hand you could have a garbage looking website and your professional logo won't matter because people will usually leave before they read anything lol.

I like to try and match the feel of my logo to the feel of my design.  If I'm launching a gaming website, I will research all my competitors and see what fonts they're using as well as the colors they have in their designs as well as logos.  I do this because the bigger websites will have millions of users visiting their pages every month, and that means they're use to those colors and fonts already.  In the beginning you'll want to match the color schemes and fonts until you start to gain some traction, then make everything unique so people know you're a different entity all together Your logo design needs to match your audience in order to be seen as professional  You draw them in and after they get comfortable, you slowly switch things up until you're at the point where you want to be.  People will usually praise the new changes and see you as an authority of your own Your logo design needs to match your audience in order to be seen as professional

Your Color Scheme
A good color scheme will go a long way when it comes to getting your website recognized simply by the user viewing your logo.  The color scheme of your log is what identifies you from others in your industry.  I've seen some websites get pretty outlandish with this part of the logo design and some how it works.  I think it might work for them because they went so far away from the norm, that they stood out in a positive way for their viewers Your logo design needs to match your audience in order to be seen as professional

Your Audience
When you're targeting a specific audience, you will need to figure out what they want to see on your website in terms of logo design.  You can't just open MS paint and slap together any type of crumby logo then add it to your website.  It simply doesn't work like that because people still want to see quality designs.  Even if you have a little kids website, you'll still need your logo to look like it was professionally done.  Again, you can do this yourself or outsource it like I mentioned in the opening paragraph, that's up to you.

Another reason you need to think about your audience is because they will want to see a certain type of attitude with the website, and that attitude determines your sales pretty much.  If you're audience is pretty edgy, make your logo reflect that!  If your audience is always at church during the week and twice on Sundays, make a logo that would reflect that so you can bring them in and trust your website Your logo design needs to match your audience in order to be seen as professional

In Conclusion:
Your logo is one of the first things that people will see when they get on your website.  If it's not professionally done and matches your target audience as well as your overall design, they will see you as less of an authority.  If they do see you as less of an authority, they will likely never refer someone or post about your website.  Even worse, they WILL post about your website and it will be something negative like "Look at this websites dumb looking logo!"

Sometimes I create my own logo and sometimes I hire a designer. I hire a designer when I feel that my designing skills are not adequate for a particular website. When I design a logo, or hire someone to do a logo for me, I always try to match the logo with the name of the website, theme of the website and color of the website. For instance, I have a website in traveling niche. My logo shows a trekker climbing mountains. My theme color is blue, therefore, the logo uses blue color.
I understand the importance of matching logo with the audience. My targeted audience is trekkers and mountaineers, therefore, in order to match with my audience, my logo shows a trekker climbing a mountain.

One problem with me is my lack of artistic sense that even if I hire someone to create a logo for me, I still couldn’t say if what was done for me is a good one. What I usually do when it comes to art is to seek the opinion of people who are into arts because they have the eye for art and they would know if the artwork is good or not. There is no need to mention that I would be doing the logo myself.

You can try free logo designing sites where you can input your keywords and generate matched logo. By using such service you will be able to choose the logo that will match your website theme. Most of these logo generators are free to use, therefore, there is no harm in trying these logo generators. The only drawback is generating unique logos. These sites have prebuilt templates and these are being used by a lot of people.

I think logo needs simplicity. People go for fancy things. Logo needs to something people can remember. And that's only possible if the things are made simple. I have noticed that audience takes time to match the professional approach of the brand. And brand has to be built one step at a time. Influencer marketing requires the logo to be simple. And you can build on that. But to each to their own.

I think apart from simplicity I think packaging requires logo to be on the right place. And in case of website the logo has to be placed on the right places. That's the thing about the logo design that makes me think differently about the logos these days.

I love creating logo's and designs I currently use canva this is awesome for creating logo's and also templates for blogs, and so much more. I feel also it's ideal to have a great facebook page with logo and design to make your site. Connect it as well with your website its easy with WordPress as there is many plugins which help with that.
Canva, like I say, is awesome for creating logos and designs and also for Facebook page covers.

Your logo definitely needs to be one of the most important things that you consider. It's the first thing that most of your customers will see so it definitely needs to be perfect and carefully considered. Like you said, you can't just go on Microsoft Paint and do a few different things and expect to get a good logo from it. Your audience will also be an extremely important thing to consider when you are designing your logo. If you are going to be selling services to multi-millionaires then you will need to have an extremely modern and professional logo.

I agree. think a great logo just draws your attention to the page. I think that the log is all part of the great page. Many people may want to have the perfect logo and will allow you to get the attention that you want with your project. Those who are looking for a great design may want to check many alternatives to find the best design for themselves.

I agree with you too here. I would love to have a logo which could express everything about what my blog is doing and that is instantly recognizable on a ballcap or t-shirt. Now THAT would be awesome. I think this is something that is pretty hard to achieve, even for the most adept graphic designer, which I am definitely not. The logo is something that takes a lot of experimentation--for example, there are plenty of VERY successful companies who have changed their logos even if only a little bit, over the years in order to streamline them.

I agree. I am a graphic designer and I have a habit of making designs look too fancy and I always find myself having to temper myself when I'm working with local clients because the trend here is very different. When the logo is too pristine, people start to assume that the store is too expensive and they might shy away from it. Also, I think when the designs appear too luxurious they might just not feel too into it since it is not something they are used to. This is actually why I prefer working with foreign clients because I find it very difficult and tedious to have to lower my own design standards just to fit the audience, but I have to take clients where I can get them so I just bite the bullet and try to design the way the local market wants it when it's necessary.

I think that in ALL things, design and content, we need to ask what is appealing or compelling to our audiences. I don't think we should completely cater to our audiences--the blog or site needs to be authentic and true to its vision. However, a strong awareness of our audience, and of the potential audience which we are trying to attract, is so important. The logo has to be something that speaks to your traffic--for example, I would not use a very geometric, sleek, minimalist logo for a fiction blog, Also, I would not use a fantasy-based and more informal logo for a business blog or site. Good forum here.

I totally agree with you. Everything is interconnected, although many people are unable to understand the magnitude and importance of this.

Many of them only realize the importance of a logo well done when they have already walked too much on the wrong side and need to return to the design table.

I don't want to be rude, but I think this is a relatively logical aspect because a business-customer connection has to be created even before the company is born. That's why it has to be a very well thought out and well developed work.

I mean, if the logo doesn't match the audience who will buy the products / services... What is the purpose of it?

Logos are awesome, but I have seen a major forum with a really dull logo, yet it's still popular. Therefore, I think the overall website design is more important than the logo. However, though, a good logo can really boost things, especially if the web design is average or bad.

I believe that a logo of a business definitely has an effect on the customers because when introduced to a certain product, that is what they see first. That is why a logo should have the characteristics that best represents the business so it would go in accordance to the purpose of the business. I personally don't like logos that are pretty overwhelming in details or overly colored. I suggest a toned down or neutral color.

Occasionally you run into website logo's that look total opposite or out of place in terms of the websites they're placed on or representing. It's a rarity but it does happen. Some are worse than others. But I also think that making a good logo is getting harder these days because everywhere you look for ideas - some other business already has a similar placard.

Yes, your business or website logo needs to match your audience in order to look professional. For instance, if your niche has to do with ways to make money online, then the logo that must be used on that site must be very relevant or related to the niche. If your niche is against the design you give to it, then there may be issues over traffic interruption or lack of adequate sales. When you become an authority in your niche, this constitutes high rankings and rankings yield consistent revenue.

We had an experience in going to a mall that was designed for the millennials, that is the younger generation. We noticed the colorful design of the building but we ignored it in thinking that it is an ordinary mall. When we came inside, we traveled the floors up to the 9th level and found nothing good for us. And that’s when we realized that the mall was designed for the young ones. With your logo, that will also apply. If your intended audience are the seniors, the design should fit the taste of the seniors.
