11 ways to use freelancers in order to be more successful online

Starting up a business isn't always easy, but if you use freelancers to help get the work done it will be like you're a fortune 500 company right from the beginning.  When it comes to stating up your own business, you're the one at risk of failure and being overworked due to all the tasks you haave to do as the CEO.  But if you use a load of freelancers to get a lot of the work done, you obviously won't have to do it yourself.  I would estimate that by 2020, 40% of the US population may be doing some form of online freelancing.  This means there are a lot more people working online and you can use their skills to help propell you into more success.  Now this doesn't mean that they all will be online 10+ hours a day, they will likely be doing this super part time which means 1-5 hours a week.  I think that they will basically log on if they have an order through a platform like SEOclerks or ListingDock, finish the order and then log off until they get another order.

In this discussion I will go over the 11 ways you can utilize freelancers when you decide to start up a website or business 11 ways to use freelancers in order to be more successful online

1. Your Website
When it comes to people stumbling on your website, you have to think of it as handing out your business card to a stranger.  They will evaluate you based on how it looks and functions, which is kind of a horrible thing, but people still do it.  You could have the ugliest website design and have the best service in the world, but you'd get almost no emails.  You could have the best design in the world and the sh*ttiest service but become a millionaire.  People judge you based on your design, so hire a freelancer if you can't do this yourself 11 ways to use freelancers in order to be more successful online

2. Logo Design
A nice looking logo paired up with a responsive design that is cutting edge will always close more deals than you calling 1,000 companies in a day.  Have a great logo will make you look like an instant authority, so don't skimp on it.  Luckily for you, there are plenty of great designers here on SEOclerks, I like using Sajeewa for all my logos 11 ways to use freelancers in order to be more successful online

3. Social Media Managers
In todays world you need to be on social media.  This part of the job as a CEO will take a good amount of time, so be sure to outsource it if you can.  Find someone that can post, like, comment and respond to inquiries for you so that you don't have to worry about anything.  It's better to have someone do everything on all your platforms than have 10 poeple to 10 different things.  One person can manage everything better and work well between platforms by cross posting than multiple people can.

4. Writers
Hiring writers won't seem like the best investment in the beginning, but you need to remember that content is king and you should never forget it.  Get loads of content on your website so that you can eventually pull in loads of traffic from the search engines when your website does become an authority.

5. Video Design
Having someone make intro videos and explainer videos will free up a ton of time for yourself.  If you aren't familiar with how video editing works, just remember that people go to college for this and if you did it yourself it would take a really long time lol.

6. Research
Hiring someone to do market research is always beneficial because you may not know what to look for.  This is also good for when doing PPC campaigns because some people are certified and can help you do everything in a way to save you money in a short amount of time by optimizing your campaigns in the beginning rather than you split testing and figuring out what works.

7. Public speaking and pitching
When it comes to getting your idea funded, you may not always be the best speaker.  Sure you could set up a nice looking power-point presentation, but can your words back up your slides?  If you hire someone to pitch for you, you're going to increase the chances of getting that contract or having an investor throw money at you.

8. Business Taxes
I don't think I've ever done my own business taxes because we always send it to the same office near where we live.  I've done my personal taxes and even now I send them to the same company to do them so that it's all under one roof lol.  Having a CPA look over your taxes may cost a couple hundreds bucks, but it can get you a lot of deductions you may have missed yourself and possibly a nice refund if possible 11 ways to use freelancers in order to be more successful online

9. Patent Attorney
When it comes to trademarks you will want to see what you can work with and what you can't.  Hiring a patent attorney to check out what you can use is always better because if you just go at something, it could be trademarked and then you have to hand over all your hard work or delete it.  Usually you can just delete the work and that's it, but there are some companies that don't care about you and will hit you with a law suite.  So by hiring a patent attorney in the beginning to look over everything is better than hiring him to defend you when you get sued lol.

10. Help Desk
You can have people manage your emails and support tickets for a few bucks a week.  They will basically be your assistants but in a virtual world, or a Virtual Assistant (VA).  I use these types of freelancers for all sorts of things from answering support tickets to data entry.

11. Programming
I myself am pretty horrible at programming of any sorts.  I always outsource this work to a few different programmers that I've found over the years.  The work they can do in 10 minutes would take me months, and that's why they always get my business lol.  Remember, time is money 11 ways to use freelancers in order to be more successful online

In Conclusion:
You can't do everything by yourself and the sooner you realize that, the sooner you can be on your way towards being successful online 11 ways to use freelancers in order to be more successful online  Of course you might not be able to outsource everything right at the start due to low funding, but in time you can have someone pick up a job here and there to lessen your work load 11 ways to use freelancers in order to be more successful online

With the increasing advent of freelancing, your post will act a great motivation for all the free lancers. The wide range of work opportunities suggested by you will go a long way in helping both the free lancers as well as the employers.

This is a kind of mutual benefit system that will help both the parties to earn well and good. The wide range of people being employed, all with a different outlook, will ensure diversity and quality control of the work as well.

I have started freelancing recently and I must say, there are quite some nice points in here. You could break through on your own, but it is gonna be a hard and bumpy ride. If you can, get the help. I recently came along some pitching offers, and I must say, that indeed sounds really great. I am thinking about getting some of those services to boost my service and reputation

I agree that the list is for the mutual benefit of a site owner and the freelancers because it is a realization that freelancers can provide needed service for online business people especially those with several websites that they have no more time for the details of maintaining the quality of their site. Just in the creation of content is already a problem because writing an article is not an easy task.

Couldn't have said it better myself! lol. At first, you may be on your own. But we all have to start off at square one! But there are so, so many things that we need doing as a webmaster and most of those things, if not all of them, can be outsourced to a freelancer. God we're so fortunate to have the freelance industry! Can you imagine what it would be like without it? Imagine how hard it would be to get certain things done! It would be like being a webmaster/blogger again but back in the late 90's, early 00's! Mind you, I would LOVE to go back in time to them because it was soooo much easier to rank a site high. You could probably do it with just using meta keywords alone lolol. No so these days! But then, that's not such a bad thing because it means less crap ranking high and only those high quality, real good sites ranking high.

But we do have the freelance industry and it's a real Godsend too. Allowing the small guy to get most if not all of the things done he/she needs doing at a great price without having to pay expensive companies to do it for you which is how it used to be back in the day. These days you can get mostly any kind of micro task done for you but at a fraction of what they would charge.

God bless the freelance industry and all the freelancers too! 11 ways to use freelancers in order to be more successful online

I love that quote as well. We tend to tell ourselves that we can do everything, but we cannot do everything. I highly respect people who hire freelancers and giving them the opportunity to demonstrate their skills to help someone be successful. 11 ways to use freelancers in order to be more successful online

Nice list! I must say, shouldn't a patent attorney be a little bit higher on the list? Or is it in no particular order? Especially if you are a creative, for example, a musician or an artist, you must have a patent on everything that you've made. But yeah, I agree with everything on that list! Some things are less necessary (especially when you aren't big yet), but that's okay.

Yes, you can do everything by yourself but also, it is much more time-consuming than hiring a freelancer and having him do some of the things for you - I do think that's the better option if you can afford it. Distributing the work around to different people is a huge rock off your back and it will let you focus on other aspects of your business.

You've made a really good list as to what we can use freelancers for - I never do my own taxes either, haha. I send it to the same person every single time and I have been doing it for years. I know that she's efficient and fast and we never had any problems.

Besides, freelancing is a very good option of finding somebody very talented in their area and develop a good future based relationship which might pay off even more than you would initially think.

With that rock off your back, you could also hire someone with certain expertise who might also consult you where to take your business. The great thing about freelancing is that you can find great people who know what they are doing and they can be really affordable.

I would like to point out 1 more thing. With writing you could also hire an editor. Proofreading, formatting, it all matters, not just the written content. Freelance editors can work for about 10$ per 500 word article or you could as well arrange a different deal with them.

Congratulations on your post!

I particularly like the idea of being able to boost a business with freelance jobs.

In addition to the tips cited in the post, anyone who is interested in more details I recommend reading the "Work 4 hours a week" of Timothy Ferriss. In this book the author talks about his experience in outsourcing a good part of his work with success.

It is worth reading!

Some valuable advice, thank you. I agree that you should focus on your strong points, and appoint professionals for the rest.

Using freelancers will indeed free up time for more important matters. However prior to appointing freelancers you need to have a solid plan in place. Too many freelancers get discouraged when the goal posts keep moving, time is wasted which they are reluctant to charge for. Strong emphasis should be placed on the planning phase should freelancers be required.

This is true in the sense that no man is a jack of all trades, and that is the reason one has to hire freelancers that can help in doing the other works that he / she is not a professional. Also, you got to save the stress and time that would have been wasted trying to do the work yourself even when you know that you won't get the desired results at the end of the day.

Check Out What Others Are Doing
if you are looking to start a freelancing business, begin by seeing how the others do it. It is also a good idea to continually view other online freelance writing business websites in order to learn more information about how to form your business plan. Promote Yourself

Freelancing and outsourcing is a win-win situation for both parties. Overheads and unnecessary operational costs are cut out and the business owner is free to focus on the growth of the business. With the array of freelancing platforms available today, every kind of work can be outsourced. Work like answering calls/emails, design, content creation, virtual assistant and even grocery shopping, laundry services can be outsourced.

When I was launching my ecommerce website, I hired a web designer, logo designer, and a writer. I have designed half a dozen websites my self, however, I hired a freelancer to design my website because I wanted a unique design. As a self-trained designer, I did not have skills to create an awesome website. I have graphic designing skills, however, I hired a graphics designer to do a logo for my website. I wanted something novel. I am a writer. In my 10 years of writing, I have written hundreds of thousand web contents, however, I hired a writer to write contents on my website. I hired a freelance writer because I wanted different style of writing.

Nowadays many people are actually seeking for the help of freelancers. I have a small business and I am actually handling everything myself. If my business were to grow I will need to outsource some of my work. This is definitely a great article and I will remember those points. They will help in the future for sure.

Great points. I agree with you. There is a saying 'your success depends on how well you can delegate' I think this is especially true with online work. In my opinion, they are very few experts as this is a new frontier for work. Everyone has to learn as they go. The biggest problem we all face is finding service providers that are trustworthy and can get the job done. I'm not sure that you can delegate public speaking and pitching? I also wouldn't understand why you would want to? This is at the core of your business. Personally, I would want to do this myself as I had the vision and know long-term goals for the business.

When you get lucky in hiring a good writer, that will definitely increase your online engagement. Especially when your website is just starting, a good writer can give you good contents that are original and unique so you are already up and about with SEO. And a good writer can also do the chores of marketing the business in social media. In other words, a good writer can act like your arm to do the hard work for your website and will be instrumental for the success of your business.
