Does SEO have a good ROI?

With almost all of my clients I get the same question "When do you think I'll see a return on my investment?" and the honest answer is "I have no clue, but I'll push as much as I can to get you positive!" But I don't really tell them that because no one will hire you if you don't know all the answers lol.

Two more questions I get frequently are "Is SEO worth investing in?" and "Does SEO have a good ROI?" and the honest answer to those is "HELL YEAH!!!!" Investing in SEO is like investing in building your brand name across the internet. If you look at SEO as just something that will help increase your rankings in a long period of time, then you'll never be happy because you'll always be watching your rankings. Think of SEO as something that you're doing for the long term in order to help your business or website flourish. The ROI of an SEO campaign is almost impossible to calculate at the beginning since the amount of traffic that can come to your website in a given day can't be calculated exactly. We can get an idea of the amount of traffic you'll get per keyword if it's ranked #1 in the SERPs, but we can't be precise. And we also don't know what random keywords we're going to get ranked for that will send traffic so we can't estimate your exact ROI.

Just know that investing in SEO usually turns a great ROI if it's done right. Don't hire someone for $500 a month and they just build 1 or 2 links on huffingtonpost or forbes each month lol. You'll need content, on page optimization, off page optimization, ppc management, brand building, SEM, and so many other things. You can find a company to do that for $500+ a month and they will usually do a good job at it. Just be sure to do your due diligence and not just pick anyone you find online. Also, the "If they're ranked high for the term 'SEO company' they have to be good!" thought process should be removed from your brain. I don't have first page rankings for a lot of competitive keywords, but I also have a lot of other websites to worry about getting rankings for and not my own ;) It's like the carpenter building luxurious houses and he lives in a shack because he gets home and doesn't want to work lol


So in the end, SEO definitely has a good ROI if done right. It won't be overnight, it may not even be within 12 months, but it will work out in the long run if the person or company doing the work knows what they are doing

Wow i never realized how long it took some people to make the money they invested back. 12 months for a return is to long for me but i am sure others would love to take this investment idea and turn it into thousands a month. I also see why you cannot give your clients an exact return time because you have many variables in seo, for example how much traffic, clicks, sales, ETC that you get on a daily basis. Im sure even the best seo workers have a bad day here and there. I also likes how you put your link on the post for people to follow you i think that is genius for building your seoclerks account and if you don not mind im going to copy you buahahha!! Thanks for your post it was a very delightful read indeed.

That is a classic question SEOs get from clients. Most of my clients already understand ads and especially Google Adwords, they have somewhat experience investing in ads and paying other people to manage those ads.

SEO they usually see as "magic" and "free" because "it's searching Google man, put me in the first position". They also are reluctant to believe that in most niches organic traffic converts better than ads traffic.

Because I know most of them have very weak AdWords and Facebook ads I just show them the bounce rate from their ads which is usually sky high compared with organic bounce rate which is below 50% if you've made some decent content and website structure.

All I can say is that I have done paid traffic before (Google Adwords) and I spent a lot of money doing that when I first started working online. I have since learned a LOT and I focus on social media marketing, email marketing and of course my favorite is content marketing. I also like to invest in some really good services here every now and then to strengthen my websites!

I have to say that I am on your team Razzy, I am a convert. I kick myself for all that money I threw away in the beginning on paid traffic. I should have put that all into SEO!

SEO has a good ROI. When you implement SEO on your website and blog today, you will not get results tomorrow. It might take a long time to get the results. However, once your SEO strategies begin to bear fruits, there will not only be a return on investment, but also huge profits. Proper SEO strategies will generate organic traffic. Organic traffic has a great conversion rate, you will earn a good revenue from your blog and website.

I have read in some discussions that SEO work can bring wonders to the traffic of the site. Some webmasters said that they get 60% of their traffic from search engines and that is owing to the SEO work done on their site regularly. Depending on the size of the site, I guess you can say that SEO is worth a good ROI if there is not much expense like a small site pays only 1 virtual assistant to do the SEO work.
