How to spread the word that online marketers can submit guest posts to my websites?

I am busy checking out all the plugins that everyone recommended in my previous discussion there I asked for advice on which plugins to use for Guest Posts.

So I will have a page on my website where visitors can submit guest posts.I am looking for ideas to get the message out there to bloggers and online marketers that they can submit guest posts.

Yes I will optimize that page for SEO and I will also share on social media and via newsletter of course.

I was just wondering if there are any other tips and tricks I can use to make people aware of it? Maybe there is a website that lists great blogs that offer guest posts that I can submit my websites to?

I was actually looking into this exact same thing the other day because I have a news related website that I just launched and I'm trying to get more writers for it. I don't have the budget to pay them to post, so I need them to post out of the goodness of their own hearts.

A few things I was going to try:

  • Banner Advertising: I was going to get some banners made on popular blogs that cover blogging. Yeah, I'm going to advertise on blogs about blogging to get bloggers to blog on my website lol How to spread the word that online marketers can submit guest posts to my websites? I'll likely get a few people wanting to sign up, but I'm not sure how many and if it's even worth it.
  • Forum Advertising: I was going to post a BST (buy sell trade) thread on some popular blogging forums and marketing forums in order to spread the word about my new website and that I'm looking for bloggers to help with content.
  • Facebook/Adwords/Adcenter PPC advertising: I set up a page on my website that is letting people know that we're looking for writers. I want to set up a PPC campaign to see if I can get writers this way, but it could cost more than it's worth since PPC is never a guaranteed thing How to spread the word that online marketers can submit guest posts to my websites?

You'll have to offer your writers something in exchange to entice them to post for you. I'm doing a revenue split and I'm also letting them post their website URLs along with social profiles on their profiles and each post they make just so they can get some of the traffic they are helping pull in.

Thanks Razzy. Yeah I don't want to pay anyone for posts right now so that won't be working for me.

However I did state on my website that they can add links to their website and social networks in their bio. I am hoping that this will make it appealing How to spread the word that online marketers can submit guest posts to my websites?

Hold thumbs for me!

Let the spam commence! How to spread the word that online marketers can submit guest posts to my websites? I'm only joshing you, but I'm letting you know from the start that, offering guest posting on your site, a long with a submission form is going to get you a LOT of spammy, low quality submissions from people. Mostly they will be from low quality SEO sites that are pluggin their services to you via your form. What people actually use it for that and not what it was intended for? You can bet the fillings in your back teeth they will. On several blogs where I've done this, I had to disable submissions via a form on a page on my site. Instead, I had to switch to people emailing me their articles instead. However, while it did reduce the amount of spammy, low quality submissions I was getting (which saved time), people would still email me rubbish articles that I wouldn't dream of posting to my site.

I'm just saying, it's best to let you know this from the start. This is the Internet we're talking about here. Where virtually everyone is trying to get something for nothing or just aren't interested period. What you have to realize is that there will only be a very very small amount of people out there that will actually want to write for your blog. And an even smaller amount of people that can write good articles for it. Especially if there is nothing really in it for them apart from a link.

And all those others that do, will probably competing, rival blogs and sites and aren't going to want to write for you and help you. Even if they do get a link out of it. Plus the ones that do probably may not even see your plea or post telling people about it.

I know I sound really negative. But I'm just telling you this from the start so you know from the start what to expect. That said, it's not to say you can't find some good writers out there or other bloggers that will submit a guest post on your site. But it may be to a site that you are also a competitor of or perhaps their site is really rubbish and low quality. Do you really want to link out to that site from yours? Are you prepared to send your loyal site readers away to a crappy blog that sells Amazon products and has tons of ads on it?

Of course, not every site will be. But you will really have to analyze the sites that you're linking out to. Check to make sure they're not Google penalized and don't have any bad rep said about them online somewhere that could make your blog loose credibility.

That all said, it is still possible to find great guest posters for your blog. One way of doing that is to join guest post exchange sites. Search in Google for "Guest Post Exchange" and there are sites you can join to find them. You can also do that same search on Social Media sites like Facebook and Google+.

Try these searches for example
https://plus.google.com/u/0/s/guest post exchange/communities
https://www.facebook.com/search/gr...0post%20exchange
https://www.facebook.com/search/pa...0post%20exchange
https://www.reddit.com/r/GuestPost/

Here's an overview of what I've just said.

  • Submission forms are great but also get a lot of spam submissions.
  • Switching to email submissions only reduces spam submissions and saves time.
  • It's easy to find people that want to submit their offers but harder to find someone that you need.
  • You'll need to check all the sites that you link to in that guest post Bio to make sure they aren't going to effect you negatively.
  • Search for "guest post exchange" or "guest blog exchange" on social media sites to find groups and pages specifically for it.

Also a couple sites worth checking out specifically for it are;

http://guestr.com/

I hope this helps! How to spread the word that online marketers can submit guest posts to my websites?

Hi MIke

Yeah I did think it would be an invitation for a spam fest and for people to send me all sorts of rubbish LOL however I need more content so I need to give this a go.

I have actually done something like this before, well sort of. I invited ladies to send in their birth stories and I got a good few. A few of them were terribly written but a good number were really cool articles that I loved and published.

Oh well we will have to wait and see what happens right?

Thanks for all the tips, I will certainly spend some time going through all of those.

If you are not paying the writers, you can use some portion of the money that you could have paid to the writers to market your offer. Your marketing should list your website under "websites that accept guest post." This kind of campaign cost you money. If you do not have a budget for this, you can join webmaster forums and offer your service. You can find many forums where you can advertise for free.

Have you tried social media? My best bet is Facebook. Search for a Facebook page or group with a related niche to your blog and try to find a way to post your promotion. I know that you have to be a member first or a follower but posting a promotion may be prohibited for newcomers. But once you get to successfully post your wanted ad for a guest blog then you have a greater chance of receiving a positive reply.
