Have you ever tried the month of paid Category Feature?

I've been having some recent success with the paid month of Category Feature here on SEOclerks for one of my services.

I tried it for the first time a couple of weeks ago. $50 was a bit of a leap of faith for me, but I reeeeally hoped that it would end up paying for itself. Thankfully, it already has. When it expires, I'm probably going to buy it again.

How to get the Category Feature for your service:

• Go to SELLER / MANAGE / MY SERVICES in the menu bar;
• Choose the CATEGORY FEATURE link, right below your service;
• Follow the instructions.

I've noticed that if I "bump" my Category Featured service right now, it pops it up to the top of the list... soooo it's like a super bump. Cool!

What's your experience with the Category Feature? Is it awesome, meh, or terrible? Did it bring you any new customers?

I actually never used it because i was wondering if it will pay off it self at the end, but now i have something solid to offer which should be selling good, specially if it's featured at list in category section and by reading your success story i feel more comfortable to go ahead with that Thanks for sharing your experience!

HI bobjoehax3 thanks for your question about categories featured service. I have been using permanent featured service for my 2 services and I also used email featured and highlight featured too. I never used categories featured. As per as I know categories featured another awesome service by ionicware. It is almost like permanent featured but it just show in categories basis. For promotion any service and for getting good sale of service, really categories service work well with short budget. And if you bump your service that categories basis service will stay top of the page. So, more expose means more sale.

I have been using category feature since 4 months It really boosted my service and improved overall rating. And sale will be doubled for sure. Make sure your service will always work to get full benefit of feature.

HI vinothmech thanks for sharing your practical experience and opinion. Though, I never used categories featured. But, my guessing is correct now after hearing your opinion. I am sure SEOclerks all such type of featured services really useful. As my opinion permanent featured really awesome, though price something high compare with other feature services. And as cheap and effective featured service, categories service should nice one.

That is interesting. I have been playing around with the idea of offering services here at SEO Clerks but I was worried about how I would manage to get my services noticed. I was very curious on how well the paid featured places worked so thanks for the feedback.
I'm still trying to decide what services I should offer and also trying to decide whether it would be worth it for me. The big problem I have is lack of time, since I have 2 young kids at home with me.

I had never noticed actually. So thanks for this discussion as I learnt something new. It is good to know of such a feature as a seller, especially at times when one might run out of orders and cannot seem to get any for a while. This is indeed a great way for a seller to make a service much more prominent as it makes it stand out. To a certain extent it is like buying advertising space in the marketplace, and it is surely more effective than a bump.

I always wondered what kind of conversions those spots were getting. I would assume it's pretty high and could potentially pay for itself pretty quick. The amount of views on the services that are featured are much higher due to the fact that they are always stuck at the top like a sticky thread on a forum. Without having to bump your own services every day, you'll get a steady flow of traffic to your services all the time, which is pretty great

Even if you break even with the featured listing price, you'll profit in the long run because if you offer a great service you're almost guaranteed that when that buyer needs a service like yours again, they'll come to you. There are many more benefits than just being at the top of the listings with a featured service listing upgrade.

Untold Upgrades:

• Recurring clients: I know for a fact that people will come back again and again if you offer a great service because I do it myself I click the "Add To Favorites" only after I purchase from a seller and they go above and beyond the service description. If I pay for 5 articles to be written in 5 days and they write 10 in 3 days, I'll definitely add them to my favorites because they did more than they needed to. Offer a great service and you'll get recurring clients pretty easily.
  
• More Shares: Since you'll be getting more exposure to the SeoClerks community there is a much higher chance that that traffic here will share your services with their friends and colleagues on facebook, instagram, pinterest, linkedin, etc. This will increase your exposure much more than you anticipated and that's always a good thing
  

I know there's more, but I can only think of those two right now.

Anyone else know some of the hidden perks when using the featured service upgrade?

Yes, I have tried the one month category featuring a couple of times. I liked it, it bought in sales, and new customers. However, due to busy a schedule, and lack of time I refrained from featuring my services for awhile. I may feature them again soon, but unsure if it is actually worth it, since I primarily have services for PHP scripts.

If you have SEO related services, it's probably best to feature the service both on the main page, and via the categories. The SEO related categories are also a bit more competitive, and it's harder to get sales.

I have never used it but I do want to try out because it will mean that I won’t need to always bump my services anymore and I can get more exposure for my service. The price is also quite good. $50 is not too expensive for what I am getting and I can see that people are having success with the category feature. Normally, I tend to prefer category featured services too when purchasing services because they stand out more than the others ones that are not featured. I will try it out shortly and get back to you; I personally know a few people who got a lot more sales from it though.
