I take Benedryl for my sinus pain during allergy season. It works really well but makes me feel very sleepy as I'm sure it does with most people. You might look for a non drowsy version.

Some have luck with a nettie pot. I have never used one so I am not sure if they are really beneficial or not.

A warm air vaporizer may provide you with some sinus pain relief as it hydrates your nasal passages and can help clear congestion especially when you have a cold.

I use Vicks vapor rub for sinus issues as it helps me breath better. Mostly this works during winter when breathing is more difficult anyway.

Benedryl was one of the only OTC medicines I could tolerate when I was really sick. Everything else made me feel crummier. And, yes it did make me sleep but that was not so bad. I needed rest.

You can use a warm air vaporizer to get some relief from your sinus congestion if it is still bothering you.

Placing a warm/hot wet washcloth over the eyes/sinus area is a good way to relieve sinus congestion and can help clear this area so you can breath more easily.

A really good pain reliever always helps me out as it takes the head ache pain away when I get sinus ache. There should be something from Tylenol that you can take such as for sinus pain, it will be very effective.

My son was having constant sinus pain so we talked to his doctor and after some tests found out that it's a chronic sinus infection. Maybe that's something you could look into as a possibility as some people are more prone to sinus infections than others.

Any medicine with diphenhydramine in it (which I think is the active ingredient in Benadryl) has always done the trick for me when I'm having sinus troubles. While I don't have allergies in the spring as most people do, I have a lot of trouble with my sinuses in the Autumn for whatever reason. Could be a combination of the air getting colder and the content of falling leaves being dispersed through the air, but for about a week during Autumn I have awful sinus troubles. A combination of allergy medicine, inhaling vapor, and essential oils tends to help a lot.

I feel sorry to see you going through such a difficult time. I would suggest that you use warm water to calm the affected area and reduce the drive to scratch those areas as well.

My sister has the issue, specially when we have a weather change. When at home, she makes some vapor inhales, and she adds ginger, lemon peel, which makes her get rid of a lot of sinus congestion. But she also takes Fexofenadine (Allegra), and put some Nasonex spray. She says those are wonderful, she buys them at CVS, Walmart, or Costco.

Sinupret is amazing for sinus I hear! Also kold kare and astragalus help boost the immune system. Facial steaming works wonders, putting arnica ointment on your temples and inside your nose to help with swelling, also saltwater/tumeric goggles with warm water to help with the postnasal drip. Also grape fruit seed saline nose spray is THE BEST.
