    Is Facebook looking a little too crowded?

    Whenever I visit a Facebook page, I have to fight to see the actual content. In the right side bar is the sponsored ads plus my chat bar. Any way to thin down the site to help me get at what I want to see?

    Isn't' there a way to make your chat side bar disappear? There should be an arrow which will allow it to collapse. The ads are just something you will have to put up with.

    You're getting a lot of value from Facebook for no cost, so the advertisements are a tiny price to pay. And, I'm just assuming you meant how annoy the ads are. The ads are also targeted to what you are searching for, so they should be more in line with your personal interests rather than an annoyance.

    For a minute, I thought you were asking if there were too many people on Facebook. And yes, Facebook is very crowded with 1 billion plus active members. But, as for the site design it seems alright to me.

    I go back and forth on having my chat bar disappear. I am not sure how sometimes it is there and other times it is not.

    And, now mine actually shrinks to bottom of page, it's not at side anymore. I like this way better than before as it was always in the way of my page view.

    This new chat design is so much better, a nice space saver which allows more relevant content to be shown in the side bar when the chat is collapsed.

    One Facebook guru said that Facebook is always on its toes in evaluating their website’s design. If you remember, there was a plan to include a “dislike” button for a post but they did not implement it for the negative effect that it may cause. With the cluttered or crowded design, rest assured that it was thought out very well and even if it looks crowded, it is still comfortable to the eyes as per the evaluation of Facebook tech people.
