Pick a topic with a lot of advertisers such as webhosting. These high comp topics will earn you the most money.

I may agree that the niche of webhosting can get you lots of advertisers but what if the guy doesn’t know anything about that subject? He will only get a headache in writing the contents of that website. Maybe you can just settle for the passion that you have like if you are fond of cars then use that for the topic (or niche) of your website so you will not be ignorant of the details in the car industry not to mention that you may enjoy writing the contents because it is your passion.

I suggest choose a topic that you interests you the most. May it be entertainment or gaming, or even webhosting.
Choosing a high paying topic that you doesn't have any idea of, will not give you a good earning.

Find keywords that are popular in Google's search engine, by doing keyword research. Then create a blog about that, post regularly. Optimize for search engines. Get some backlinks. Make relevant posts to have good content. And, build a readership. Act interested in your topic. Care about the reader. And, place your Adsense ads in easy to see spots like above/inside the article, not just in the side column where it can be over looked.

Isn't finding "the right topic for you" comes first? I mean, if you just go to Google and check the most popular keyword, there are chances that you knew nothing about it.

lol! I was just continuing your train of thought about how you should find something you really like and then NEXT find keywords that are popular for that niche. If you only have a subject you love without the keywords, there is no guarantee you will get found. The two things go hand in hand when blogging.

I don’t think it is wise to plan a website that you have no idea about. Okay, you want to have a new website but first, you need to have a plan of what kind of website you want. Take stock of your passion. What do you want to see every day? If it is about your selfie photo then create a website about your selfies. Why so? Seeing your photos make you happy, right? So if your website is about your photos then that is good for your passion and you will have to motivation to check on your website every day.

What I did was signed up to get approved for affiliate programs. When I got approved it occurred to me that I needed some place to put the banners, text links, and product links. That's when I decided to build a website.
