    I don't think you can ignore content. I can understand if it's not possible for you to create that content yourself but google focuses mainly on real quality content. So if you don't "believe" in content, go to contentmaster.net or the like and hire a freelancer. Trust me its worth it.

    Just creating content (however good it may be) is just not enough for getting backlinks. Just think about it. There are millions of sites and several thousands that get created everyday. You need to get visible and the only way to achieve that is by SEO - on and off page. The best written content will get buried under tons of keyword and SEO optimized articles in your niche.
