I haven't advertised a site on TV before. Though I'm sure television advertising could be useful for some niches/products, especially if you have a good lead capture or call to action page where site visitors are sent and there's a good chance of conversion.

I haven't tried this because it would be to expensive and I think it would only work for big businesses.

No doubt it is very expensive but it is advantageous too, if your business is about something which customers need on a regular basis then going for tv ads may help.

It would be hard to track success/conversions from TV ads. How would you?

I think it could work though, if you have the money and a channel related to your niche.

TV ads I think is expensive than any other method. I would rather do adwords than it. Although the word can read to millions of people, the links on TV can't be clicked so "FOR ME" it would just be pointless to consider TV ads unless I'm selling valuable products on my site like diamond rings and the likes.

Facebook ads is another good thing to try, considering how targeted the ads are, versus even Adwords.

I have not done it but I have seen a few others that have done it. I just do not know how successful it would be unless you were a larger site that could really draw the traffic in.

That's why you need to post your URL with your ad. Like how they did in the ad I posted above.

I think that it would cost quite a bit, and unless you had something that a lot were interested in, it would most likely not be worth it.

If you have a lot of money, would you try it?

I would love to have a advert on the television for my xbox forum / website. I agree, it would cost quite a bit, but it would generate a ton of traffic if on the corrects channel and correct time of the day for your target market Advertising your website on TV

Not so much local channels, but yes, the United Kingdom and indeed Scotland do, but i would still imagine those to be rather expensive to get ad time on or in between. Advertising your website on TV

Expensive nature of advertising on TV was what really put me off. I mean I couldn't see how I will spend much on doing advertisement on TV at the stage I am now.

Over here, the 30-second advertisement on the major tv networks cost approximately $1,000 and more if it is prime time. You can imagine the expenses of a tv sponsor that’s why very few website are advertising on tv. But I guess the tv is still potent when it comes to promoting a product or service. One website that I saw on tv is Traveloka which is a travel agency that is a direct competitor of Booking dot com and Trip Advisor. Another is Lazada, the largest online store here.
