I always see people asking about how they can boost their sales on a specific platform and there are always 8 ways to boost your sales as a digital freelancer that not many people are using. You need to think of your freelancing as a business and keep your customers happy. If you get a single bad review it can hurt your overall sales because you're success rate drops, your reviews get poisoned for a little while, and people always think "What if they do a bad job for me?"
Being successful as a digital freelancer isn't easy but it's a lot easier if you follow the 8 things I'm going to cover below
Be Super Responsive
A big thing to take into consideration as a freelancer is that there are plenty of people who can do the same job as you. This means you need to be extremely responsive and talk to your potential customers as soon as they contact you. If you don't, they will move onto the next freelancer who can do the same work, and that person will get the job because they responded faster than you did.
Always Over Deliver
When you're running a service you can usually over-deliver. You can give more content than what was purchased, build more backlinks, and even invest more time if someone paid you for hourly work. If you give more than what was purchased, you will show your client that you're willing to go the extra mile to do a quality job, and they will likely come back over and over with more orders
Go Over Reports if Needed
If you send a report to someone and they have questions you better be answering them! You can't treat your freelance career as a one time order type of thing, you need to nurture your clients and help them through difficult times, and those times are sometimes when they have to read your reports lol Go over the backlinks within the report, talk about specific sections of the article you wrote, and just be there for them if they have any questions
Offer Unlimited Revisions
When I'm writing content for customers I never think "how many revisions will I need to do for this order?" because I like to get it done the first time. I always tell my buyers that if there is something they need edited to please let me know and I will fix it. You should do the same thing if you're running a design service, an SEO service, or any sort of service that allows for revisions of the work being done. Do this and you will show the buyer that you're willing to work with them to make sure the order is perfect in their eyes and that means they'll keep coming back for more
This usually comes in the form of add-ons that have a lowered price compared to the original service. The add ons I use for my writing service are in the form of a lower cost per word if they purchase more content. I think I get down to around $0.04 per word if someone were to order all of my add ons lol Another thing you can do is offer a sort of BOGO (buy one get one) offer so people get more for their money. I've seen plenty of backlink services here do that where they'll double the number of links being built for the price of one service being purchased, and they do pretty well
Take Advantage of FOMO
The "Fear of Missing out" has a lot to do with spontaneous sales and it works pretty well. If you can add an end date to your sale then you'll show people when they can't save money anymore and you'll increase your sales. If you can do a 48-hour flash sale then you'll get more people purchasing right away because they'll likely be unsure if they can get back online for your sale, so they'll purchase right then and there!
Take Time Crafting Your Services Description
Many times when I see someone say "How can I get more sales?" and then I check their services, it looks like a wall of content that hasn't been formatted even a little. Think about it, would you want to read through a long service description if you were looking for something to purchase? NOPE! That's why you need to design your service descriptions in a way that they look like a piece of art and persuade people to make a purchase.
Know Your Competitors and Their Pricing
If you're selling an article writing service for $50 and giving the customer 300 words of content, you're not going to sell much. This is because you don't know you're competitors and what they're pricing their services at. You can always build up your portfolio in order to charge more but you'll need to charge less, in the beginning, to get those initial sales and get positive reviews. You can always increase your pricing later on and still keep the sales flowing, but it's much more difficult to start with high pricing and stay there.
It's not difficult to sell a service online if you know what you're doing. You need to run your freelancing services as a business and be professional as much as possible. You need to over-deliver, work with the customers, and make sure you're responsive so people don't find a competitor and pay them for what you could have done better. Study your competitors and make sure to undercut them in the beginning and build up your positive reviews by leveraging FOMO and providing the best service around. If you do everything I listed above then you'll be on your way to providing a top-notch service that everyone will want to buy
