How you can use affiliate marketers to brand, boost, and build your company
Many businesses around the world have affiliate systems, but not all of them use their affiliates in the best way possible. Most affiliate systems are bare-bones and have one or two banners and links to promote, which isn't much if you compare it to a great affiliate system that gives you dozens!
If you're getting into affiliate systems and wanting people to promote your products or services, there are a few things you need to do before you're successful with this.
Beat your competitors offers
You will need to research your competitors and understand what they are doing for their affiliates. If you know your enemy, then it is always easier to beat them in battle, right?
- Know how much commission a competitor is giving its affiliates.
- Know how long your competitors' cookie duration is.
- Know all the payment thresholds for your competitors' programs.
If you can know those three little things, you will likely be able to offer something better to your affiliates and your competitors' affiliates in hopes they jump ship and come to your side!
Have an amazing product that affiliates actually like
A lot of affiliates will push products or services they like. Sure, there are some big affiliates out there that will only push niche specific products, but that's because their lists are extensive for specific industries.
If you have something perfect for a specific industry, you will be able to put it in front of the affiliates, and they will go nuts over it. You MUST have something unique or at least better than the competitor as well as cheaper but has higher conversion rates. Affiliates don't mind pushing a product that is a little cheaper if it's getting 3x the conversions
Give incentives to successful affiliates
If you have 10,000+ affiliates and only a few of them are sending in quality leads, you need to reach out to those few great affiliates and give them something a little extra.
What you give out is up to you but affiliates like money so why not give them a little bonus? Sure, you could give them some product or send them on vacation, but that doesn't pay their bills lol. An affiliate marketer is trying to make money, so give them money, and they will likely push your products even more
Have get-togethers with affiliates
Larger companies will bring their top affiliates together at a sort of retreat or conference. They will honor a select few affiliates while talking to the entire room of amazing people.
You can do this if you get to the point where you have a bunch of successful affiliates all sending in traffic and leads. You can design some awards, give out bonuses, and have a party at the end of the day for everyone that is in attendance.
You won't get all of your top affiliates to attend, but the ones that do will have a great time if you set everything up just right
In the end, affiliate systems and marketing isn't the easiest thing to do, so you should always know what you're doing before you start. Know what your competitors are doing so you can offer better incentives, and so you can have a better product or service. Put smiles on your affiliates faces by rewarding them with bonuses after they hit a certain amount of sales and inviting them to your conference/party
