Top affiliates make $1,000s per sale and not a few dollars

Everyone online has likely heard about affiliate marketing and have probably seen someone showing checks for 100k or more.  These people are likely making that much money, but it's usually from selling people like us a course on how to make money as an affiliate, which is sort of backward.  The real affiliates out there are making $1,000s per sale and making millions of dollars each year and don't really care about sporting their checks online because they don't need to brag in order to increase their sales.

If you're trying to crack into affiliate marketing and be a millionaire, you need to know that making $1 to $5 per sale isn't going to get there.  You need to engrave this in your mind, it takes just as much effort to convert a $5 order as it does a $5,000 order, but it's up to you to figure out where you can make the most money with the time you're investing Top affiliates make $1,000s per sale and not a few dollars

Below are a few things that should help open up your mind when it comes to affiliate marketing, and they are:

Understand what companies can pay you the most
I'm sure you've heard of JVzoo and Clickbank if you're an affiliate marketer, but those platforms don't pay thousands per sale, so you likely won't be a millionaire if you're getting commissions there.

Instead, you should be targeting the companies that aren't pushing their affiliate systems and see if you can apply to start sending them traffic.  The bigger companies might not advertise their affiliate systems, which is why you'll have to ask, but that's not a difficult thing to do because you can just send in an email Top affiliates make $1,000s per sale and not a few dollars

Think of who has the biggest markups on their products or services and those are the companies that will pay you more per lead that converts into a sale.  I work with a corporate credit company that charges the client 8% of the credit line they get for them, and I get 3% for the lead, which doesn't sound like a lot when you're so used to getting 75% from a ClickBank product.  Would you be more interested if I told you that my biggest check from this credit company, for just 1 lead that converted, was just over 20k and all I had to do was send them a qualified lead that got a credit line?

Now that I've peaked your interest, keep reading Top affiliates make $1,000s per sale and not a few dollars

Do your keyword research and find businesses that are advertising
If you can figure out what the highest cost per click keywords are, you can likely find a lot of companies that can afford to pay you a premium for your leads.  Now, you will have to filter out anyone selling a physical product or companies that can't afford to pay you a minimum of $500 per lead, because remember that you will do the same amount of work for a $5 commission as you will a $5,000 commission, so you want to work with the people who can afford to pay you a premium Top affiliates make $1,000s per sale and not a few dollars

After you have your list of companies that can afford to pay you, just contact them or apply for their affiliate programs and see what happens after you bring in some potential leads.

You're bringing in quality, not quantity
You might be sending 100,000 visitors through an affiliate link and getting $1 or $5 per sale, but you might only be making $100 a month through that system.  If you were to send just 1,000 high quality leads through an affiliate link that pays you out thousands, you will likely convert a few of them, and that's much more money than a few dollars per sale Top affiliates make $1,000s per sale and not a few dollars

You're focusing on high-quality leads and not a massive amount of traffic through your links in order to make money with affiliate marketing.  Do you think that top affiliates are spamming their links wherever they can?  No, they're posting their links on high-quality websites that are extremely credible and they're getting clicks that way.  They may only get 10 clicks for 40 hours of work to get their links on a website they've been targeting, but all 10 of those clicks could result in a commission.

It takes time to build this type of affiliate plan
Like I mentioned above, you could work 40 hours for just 10 clicks, but it's usually worth it if you can stick it out long enough.  I didn't make 20k in one commission because I posted a link and got lucky, I talked with this person and told them everything that the company does, then held their hand throughout the entire process and answered any questions they had.  I gave them my personal phone number to text or call me whenever they wanted, and it resulted in a massive commission.

You need to take your time and never really settle for a lower commission unless there is an option to increase the commission after a few genuine leads because that's how you build a great affiliate income stream.  Yes, people will low ball you to pay you less, but their competitors will pay you a great deal of money, and the internet is lovely like that because there is always someone out there trying to overthrow their competitors Top affiliates make $1,000s per sale and not a few dollars

In conclusion
If you're getting into affiliate marketing today, please learn everything possible before trying to do these big deals.  Learn everything you can about JVzoo and Clickbank, then set up your own websites in specific niches and send quality traffic to these bigger paying companies in order to get yourself a $20,000+ commission check Top affiliates make $1,000s per sale and not a few dollars

Seriously, I have come to understand recently how good affiliate marketing is when it comes to paying decent money as the affiliate marketer hits the business up and running. The truth behind this success is that it was achieved in a day, it takes time, research, hard work, commitment, dedication and determination in order to get to stage where you can sleep but keep making money on daily basis.

Yeah, people jump into affiliate marketing thinking they'll be able to quit their day jobs now that they have a different revenue source, but they quickly realize it's just another job that has to be built up in order to achieve success.

I know a few people who started off in affiliate marketing because they heard of me quitting my job and going full time online. What they didn't know was I had been busting my butt online for a few years before I started making any sort of real money that allowed me to quit. They just started working online, making a few bucks and thought "If I focus on this, I can make even more money than my day job!", then they quickly realized how tough it was to scale and they went back to their previous employers to beg for their jobs back lol Top affiliates make $1,000s per sale and not a few dollars

Exactly. I think that the problem comes with those that are already successfully in affiliate marketing not sharing the ugly and difficult part of the job to the general public but only focus on sharing the positive part where they are now enjoying the job because it has started paying them. This is why these people jump into affiliate marketing immediately thinking that it's a get rich quick scheme immediately when it's not.

Yes I agree. Some of them just share the sweetness and not sharing the bitter part of it. And that is why some people immediately jump into conclusion that they can do it easily.

I am going to engage in affiliate marketing soon when I get the budget for my own website. From what I have read in discussions about affiliate marketing, it can give me a steady income when the business is already stable. But I know that in the beginning it will be hard work because it is not only in promoting the products that I have to focus but also in promoting myself so that I can gain a good reputation. Branding is important when you have a website so that people will respect and believe you.

Well I think that is true for 1 in 10000 ratio. Few people actually believes in that anymore. Because of the millions that tried Affiliate Marketing in the past that didn't earn. A lot of people have commented negatively and have even posted a ton of reviews scattered all over the internet.

Affiliate Marketing is not for everyone and minimal success in it can be realized through very hard work.

Precisely. We share same thoughts, it ia not for everyone. And it requires a lot of hard work. In order to become a successful affliate marketer you need to exert a lot of effort and learn evrything. A lot of researching is needed in order to fill ones knowledge of affliate marketing. It just sad that some successful affliate marketer just don't share all of the information they went through.

I have been researching about it and the benefits are quite worthy nonetheless. I mean who does not like the possibility of getting passive revenue and which stretches over a long period.

Never heard of Jvzoo. Have heard of Clickbank.

My method of affiliate marketing started with me trying to build my own website. I ended up deleting my websites. They were awful. But I learned!

Then I started trying to blog and incorporate my affiliate products links into the content. My blogging efforts were not very successful. Lack of traffic to the blog.

At about the same time I started blogging, I discovered sites that were created for people to promote affiliate products. Squidoo was such a site. Sadly, Squidoo was acquired by HUBPages. The rule is: If you can't beat your competition, acquire it! When Squidoo did exist, I didn't make thousands of dollars but I did earn enough to encourage me to continue with my affiliate marketing efforts.

You are right that you have to contact the company. Many people don't know that. But many people should also know that if your site where you intend to promote the company's products or services doesn't measure up to the company's standard of “quality” they will send you a nice rejection message indicating that it just isn't a “proper fit”. But if you are fortunate enough to develop a profitable relationship, that's fabulous.

It's great if you can be an affiliate marketer for high-end products. But if you can't make thousands, aim for lower commissions. I sold a home décor product once and earned a commission of $60. Commissions earned between $50 to $100 aren't too shabby. Top affiliates make $1,000s per sale and not a few dollars

Well said. This is something to definitely aspire to. Affiliate marketing has a long learning curve. It sounds really easy but it definitely is not. It is actually a full fledged business that can make you a lot of money. Many people forget this fact and don't give it the time and seriousness that it deserves. I agree with you that we should aim for higher commissions because the time and conversion rate for both are the same.

Exactly! There is no backdoor or shortcut to being successfully in affiliate marketing. It requires great effort and commitment before you get to start making money from your affiliate marketing links. Normally, if you are lucky you get to work your butts off for 2 to 3 years before you start earning from affiliate marketing. I have seen some people claim they used just a year to start earning from affiliate marketing.

I have to agree, I have a friend who spend 2 years in doing affiliate marketing full-time and I've personally seen his daily activity in Amazon and Clickbank and all he managed to earn is about $100 a month, he was doing it full-time. I've also tried affiliate marketing and after 4 months I decided that it isn't worth it.

I think that's often the problem these days, people expect instant gratification and a quick way of earning, when you've really got to put in the hard yards with affiliate marketing to get the return on your work.

I am hoping to learn some things about it. I have however come to notice that with the high number of "internet gurus" I might need to consider keenly who to sign up with.

In my opinion affiliate marketing worked in the past and a lot of affiliates did earn good money back then when there's only a few affiliates working. But nowadays there's simply too many affiliates around posting links and making competition for conversions very hard. This makes the whole affiliate thing one sided favoring the company.

The competition is something that has reduced the rate that people make money via affiliate marketing. I have come to notice that it is never easy for some of us that are trying to start out as we have come to realize that the competition is quite high.

Yeah, key is patience and looking for higher quality work rather than being satisfied in those that payout immediately for a seemingly high percentage (albeit lower workload), but you don't get to earn much from these when you can find a better paying affiliate work if you just put in real work.

This discussion is very encouraging because $1,000 is big money here. However, I understand that it is easier said than done because affiliate marketing is not that easy to do. Much more, you just cannot be an affiliate in online stores that you choose because they have requirements. And I know that it takes a lot of time to get a good number of traffic on your hands that you can send to the big companies.

"You are bringing in quality not quantity" I just love this. Its true numerous companies will go for value over number as value is durable.

Affiliate marketing is one of the ways that most people have made a whole lot of money by posting links of products that they are marketing. You get to understand that it is all about getting to work pretty harder to make enough income and build confidence in the company right from the beginning.

Well, I have learned a lot about affiliate marketing after reading this post and it has been able to clear some of the doubts and misconceptions I had about this subject. I think it is always better to focus your efforts and give your best on anything that you do. But one should be able to channelize his efforts where he would be able to get the maximum benefit from whatever he does. I think identifying and targeting the right clients is the key to make decent profits in Affiliate marketing.

This post is detailed, and because I am planning to venture into affiliate marketing, I have gained so much. After starting my affiliate website, I will apply all the tips highlighted.
My only concern is that some companies are location sensitive. Also, I would highly appreciate if you can expound more on keywords.
