Things your website needs in order to be taken seriously

We all have a website up and running in order to funnel traffic to and hopefully get a few sign ups or sales.  If you're doing it right, you know that you need a specific set of things before people start to take you seriously and trust that you're the right website to purchase from or sign up for a newsletter to be received each and every week.

Right now there are billions of websites out there (that's a guess, not a statistic) which means you have plenty of competition no matter the niche you choose.  Inevitably, you'll need to stand out from the crowd in order to be seen as the authority and for people to actually trust you.  If no one trusts you, you'll notice your sales don't go anywhere and your competitors will likely thank you for doing such a bad job which helps boost their sales lol.

Below are 4 things you need to focus on before people will start to take you seriously, and they are:

A great design
It doesn't matter if you have a 100% custom design or if you have a website that runs off a pre-designed theme from a large marketplace.  I personally go with themes in the beginning because they're much cheaper to get a website up and running compared to a custom design that could cost thousands of dollars.

Now, no matter what you choose, you'll need to have something look great before you start to advertise to the masses in hopes of getting a few sales here and there.  Have something that is modern and easy to use while making it feel inviting to anyone that lands on any page of your website.  If you can do that, people will begin to take yours seriously in a much shorter time frame.

A magnificent logo
People tend to get any sort of logo they can get their hands on, even a basic text logo, but I have to tell you that a magnificent logo is what sets apart the pop-up shops from the professionals that can be trusted.  Think about it, if you were to land on a website with a logo that looks like it was made in MS paint, would you take them seriously?  You'd probably think "This website is a joke!" and you'd move on to the competitors.

You can look through SEOclerks to find a great logo designer, I actually use a couple people here for all my logo needs because they're affordable and do an amazing job Things your website needs in order to be taken seriously  Get some magnificent logos made and upload them to your website Things your website needs in order to be taken seriously

Hold visitors hands through your website
If you just have a "Buy Now" button on your homepage and think you're going to rake in millions, you're out of your mind.  You need to funnel people to your content, blog posts, 3rd party reviews, news coverage, etc. before they will start to take your business serious.  If you can funnel them to just a sales page, they will see you as a website that just wants to make a sale and not one that is trying to spread plenty of great information to the masses.

Have your website interlinked to content on your own pages, have some links aimed at your online reviews (opening in a new tab of course), a link between blog post to blog post, etc.

People need to stay on your website in order to see you as a professional, and if you're helping them navigate around as easy as possible, you'll notice your bounce rates get better and your sales increase Things your website needs in order to be taken seriously

Amazing content
I don't have to go over this too much, because it's pretty common knowledge now, but you need amazing content on your website and blog if you want to be taken seriously.  No website out there, at least in competitive niches, has a bare-bones blog that is just collecting dust.  Their websites and blogs are flooded with great content that they write with a passion for their niche, and people can relate to that and trust you more with each visit.  The more trust you build, the more serious people will take you and your website Things your website needs in order to be taken seriously

In conclusion
Your website is a business and you need to treat it like one.  You need to have a great designed that has a magnificent logo as well as the right interlinking and great content to top it off.  If you can't do any of that, you might as well throw in the towel now because you'll never be taken seriously.  The more trust you can build, the more you'll sell and profit in the long run.
