4 ways guest blogging helps build your business

When you first start off with guest blogging, it doesn't seem to have any benefit besides getting a link or two out there for the public to possibly see.  Even if you do 10 guest blog posts, you might only get a small trickle of traffic from the links you posted within the content.  You may also see guest blogging as pointless because you're writing up some amazing content and just giving it to someone within the same niche, sometimes they even seem like a competitor, and you get nothing in return besides a little link and your name on the article.

Guest blogging does sound like a very odd concept since it may not seem to benefit you when you talk about it, but it does help out in various ways.  Many of these so called "Gurus" are guest blogging all the time in order to get their name and businesses out there in front of the public, and they do a great job doing so.  The more guest blog posts you do on high authority sites, the better it will be for you in the long run 4 ways guest blogging helps build your business

Does guest blogging make sense to you?
Why would someone sit down and take their time to write up some free content for another person within their niche when you could easily add it to your own website?  Well, there are a few great reasons to do this, and hopefully you understand after reading through this discussion 4 ways guest blogging helps build your business

Guest blogging doesn't usually cost any money unless you're trying to get on a highly sought after website and they are flooded with guest posts.  Usually you just have to invest your time and knowledge in order to get a guest post up and running on someone elses website.

Is it worth your time to do some guest posting?  Yes It Is!

Publishing guest posts on other peoples websites can help you boost your organic traffic and authority within the search engines, making it easier to rank for more difficult keywords in a shorter amount of time.  Now that's just one little hint as to why guest blogging is so important, and the rest of this discussion will be covering a few more 4 ways guest blogging helps build your business

You Can Reach The Right Audiences
When you're guest posting on someone elses website or blog, you're getting content in front of an audience that is super targeted.  This is because you will be trying to get your content on niche related websites in order to have the best results possible.

Not only will you get your content in front of the right audience, you will increase your click throughs since your readers will be interested in what you have to say.

Basically, you'll be siphoning traffic from the website or blog you'll be guest posting on, increasing your readers, subscribers, sign ups, sales, etc.

Obtaining Free Backlinks For A Ranking Boost
Search Engine Optimization, or SEO, is a crucial thing you need to learn when it comes to running your own website or blog.  You will need to figure out how to embed a hyper link with your homepage or subpage being the page where people will go after clicking.  Doing this is crucial for your rankings because the more high authority links you get, the better your organic rankings tend to be within the SERPs (search engine results pages).

When Google, Yahoo! or Bing sees a high authority website linking to you, they will give you some additional credit and boost your rankings usually.  The more often you're getting high quality content on blogs and websites already seen as authorities in Googles eyes, the higher you will likely rank within the SERPs.

You can increase your organic traffic from the search engines exponentially with high quality guest posts.  You will need to do this manually, or hire someone to do it, in order to see the best benefit.

Drive traffic to your sub pages
When you're guest blogging, you won't always want to link to your homepage.  Linking to your homepage is good and all, but it won't benefit you as much as if you were to link to a subpage on your own website where a reader could continue to gather information.

If you link a guest blog post to your homepage and people have to search for related content to what they were previously reading, they will likely click away and never come back.  You want the reader to be happy with your content and website when they click through, so make the content similar to what was talked about within the guest post.

You will build authority with guest posts
The blogs and websites you want to post on will already have a decent authority within the eyes of Google, and that's how you want to be seen.  In order to increase your own authority, you need to get links on other high authority websites within your own niche, or a similar one.

This is where guest blog posting comes into play!

By getting your backlinks on a high authority website, you will be increasing your own authority slowly, but surely.  Get enough high authority backlinks and you will eventually see your authority spike and the traffic start to flow in from the search engines.

You will not only be building you authority within the eyes of Google, but your audience as well.  People will start seeing your website featured on various blogs and sites they frequent, making you more well known and a trusted seller or source of information in their eyes.  Since the users will trust you more when you gain authority, they will be more willing to share your content to friends and family on social media platforms and even in an email.

After you get a bunch of good guest posts up and running, you will notice that other niche related websites will start to contact you in order to interview you.  This will be great for exposure and building your own authority within the niche even more.  You might even land a public speaking gig with a big company and your exposure will then be boosted once again 4 ways guest blogging helps build your business

In Conclusion
Yes, you'll be writing up content for free in hopes of getting it published on authority websites within your niche, so you will always need to focus on writing up the best content possible.  Investing an hour into a long post will benefit you much more than submitting 500 words of scrambled content and hoping to get accepted by the blog or website.  Take your time when writing the content and make sure it's relevant to the website or blog you're trying to post on.  If the blog or website likes your content, they will usually accept your post and let you link back to you homepage or subpage, increasing your authority along the way 4 ways guest blogging helps build your business

I'm surprised to see so many discussions about Guest Posting when I can distinctly remember a few years back the "buzz" was that guest posting or guest blogging opportunities were on their way out. I didn't listen to the rumors. I didn't believe them. I mean ... think about it. People go around giving speeches and getting paid. The appearances they make build on their reputation and keep them in the spotlight. Publishing a guest post isn't the exact same thing as giving a speech, but the concept is very similar. You've been invited to write a post at someone's blog or website, just like Hillary Clinton gets invited to give a speech or a lecture. Other than the substantial compensation she receives for uttering her words, what's the difference? 4 ways guest blogging helps build your business 4 ways guest blogging helps build your business

Apart from the backlink benefit. It seems like the traffic from the blog is another benefit. You can surely benefit from that traffic. And it may not be high for building business. But every small bit adds up. And especially for the affiliate marketing this type of the traffic is definitely something people should be thinking about. I personally think that blogging business takes time but with backlinks and guest posting that surely helps.

You said that you get invited which means guest blogging is upon the permission of the blogger. From what I understand, guest blogging is similar to making a pitch because you have to convince the blogger to let you publish your blog there in his site. I don’t think it is easy especially when the blogger is very popular since it will be obvious that you are just trying to ride on his popularity.

There are sites that offer paid guest blogging opportunities. Then there are bloggers who invite other bloggers to publish a guest post. I invite others to guest post at my blogs. And yes I do have to give permission. But it's a simple communication process. I tell the blogger what I expect (usually a particular topic, a certain number of words, and images that are not stolen). They tell me what they expect (usually they want links back to their site, embedded in their author's BIO profile). I was invited to submit a guest post. I wrote a post according to the publisher's guidelines and she was pleased. So was I because her site gets a lot of traffic and my post appearing at her blog boosts my online reputation.

I think a lot of businesses could benefit from having a blog because from the ones that do it that I have seen, it seems to be an excellent way of keeping your customers engaged and updated. There are a lot of details you could say over a blog that might just get lost when it's in the form of a social media post, or it may feel a little different because it might feel just a little bit more official. It's not a guarantee for success though as I have also seen many failed businesses that utilized a blog to communicate with their supporters, but I do think it can be very beneficial when used correctly.

It's nice to know the benefits of guest blogging for these are the things some writers are yet to know. I have developed more as a writer posting great contents on popular blogs and that has even gotten me to the level where I am today. Guest blogging can make one ease through a niche and get some experience on how those readers react to certain issues.

I'm glad to know more about guest blogging for that is going to motivate me to keep writing contents for some of the popular blogs we have in this part of the country.

Well stated, I like guest blogging for other web owners in my niche, I came to realize that I was having more traffic from the link of my blog through that site and I sounded like a good authority in that niche and it made more sense to me.

A good thing about guest blogging is that it helps to generate organic traffic because visitors will troop to one page and subpages to find out about one's content and they may get stuck and become one's blog visitors.

I really like the idea here of building authority and trust with the guest bloggers. If you can get well-informed or expert guest bloggers to contribute to your site, then this boosts confidence in your audience that your blog is a great place to visit to get the information or entertainment that they need. I think that people are sometimes naturally more apt to trust more than one voice about the same subject than just an individual proclaiming their knowledge about it alone. I would assume that lots of cross traffic occurs, was well, with guest bloggers because they bring their audience, possibly, to your page along with them right?

There are two types of guest blogging:
1. you publish a guest post on a high traffic, high authority site
2. a popular blogger publishes an article on your website.
When you publish a guest post on another site, you are generating backlink for your site. You are also putting your blog in front of the audience of that site
When someone publishes a guest post on your blog, you will get his readers to your website which increases traffic.

Yes, I think guest blogging is great if you can find the right forum or website to do it. Some sites even pay big bucks for guest bloggers so it is worth it from that aspect as well. I think that more people would do it if they knew about it. It can be a good thing for sure.

I have to agree with you. Guest posting can be great for your site but you need to make sure that you do it on the correct site. There is no point wasting your time for a backlink on a blog that doesn't even get 100 views a day. But if you can find the right site to do guest posting on then it can benefit your site massively.

I know one time years ago I made an arrangement with someone and we took turns guest blogging on each others sites. I really haven't done it since that time though. It was a good deal though and benefitted both.

The site where you will be posting your guest article is of great importance. The site should be receiving a lot of traffic and has a higher position on SERP. I agree with your view that if you are publishing a guest post on a site that does not even generate 100 views a day, your guest posting will not help your website.

When I was invited to be a guest blogger, I didn't have the idea that I would be paid. And when I got paid, I am now expecting a payment when I write for a blogsite. However, that payment for writing blogs it's not really a policy. Why not write a blog for a popular blogsite? That would be an advantage to the guest blogger so I guess remuneration is not an issue when guest blogging for a popular blogsite. And to add, it's all right to help new bloggers so again, remuneration is not an issue.

If the blog where you are trying to do guest post has high traffic and ranks higher on search engines, it will help you to gain traffic and improve search engine ranking. Therefore, what matter is traffic and search engine ranking more than the payment you get from your posts. However, earning few bucks from your guest posts might help you financially.

My approach is start with even the smallest possible website. And then build the stuff from there onward. That usually works a lot better for many. I have seen some of the people also making use of the free blogs. And this may or may not work for all. But if one can work around this then it can surely add up in due time. So on that context, i'd say backlinks should be build slowly. If done with guest blogging and posting then that could be slowly done as well. But it does need some time for things to settle though. We have to consider that part.
