How to Increase Adsense Earnings?

Can anyone share some tips and techniques to increase my adsense earnings?

Yes I understand the obvious about increasing my rankings and my traffic since I can’t make money if I have no traffic on my website…. but I am looking for any other ways that you might know of that will increase my Adsense earnings.

When I first started with Adsense I just had the one ad in my sidebar and I have now learned about adding some ads within my content.

This has increased my earnings quite a lot and I am slowly going back through all my content to add in some of these ads…

So yes I am only on the basics now, so what else can I be doing to boost my Adsense earnings?

You can try using the experiment tool in Google Adsense to test different ads to see which one creates the best results. You can test text ads vs banner ads and different colour variations. However, from personal experience, this doesn't make much of a difference but there is no harm in trying. Also, try to put your ads in the header spot and avoid footer spots; header spots gets the best CTR and footer spots gets the worst CTR rates. Another common reason today for low adsense income these days may be due to adblockers. There is not much you can do to counter this but you can try adding a feature that detects adblockers and displays a message that tells visitors to disable here. You can check out this for a discussion about adblockers.

This is just from personal experience and hope this helps!

Yes I read that community discussion about Adblockers and I also installed one when I read that. Funny thing, is that after that I thought Adsense kicked me out of their program because I couldn't see the ads on my websites hahaha... yes I am blonde.

Ok so put the ads in the header? I don't have any ads in my header as such. I do add them sometimes towards the top of my blog posts though.

I wouldn't have a clue how to put an Adsense banner into my header. I'm not sure I want one there anyway, I don't think it will look very nice?

The best way to increase adsense income is by doing viral content marketing and diverting traffic from social media like facebook, google +, pinterest, stumpleupon , reddit.

Now the problem is which things to promote to make it viral. Yes there are tons of news to make anything viral. In 2016 30% of total news was fake and its was viral all over social media. So create some Hoax news and post it on number of groups, facebook pages and all but don't do it from one account only do it regular basis from multiple accounts it will be safe.

Other way of making money with Adsense its like unlimited money but for limited time only through event blogging. Event blogging is best to divert traffic but the competition is huge. We need to concentrate not only to seo but also on content while you doing event blogging. I have over $1900+ from an event website in just 7 days. Sounds awesome right?

Yes its possible so try your best concentrate. Seoclerks SEO service is best so i will recommend to use seo service on seoclerks for better rankings because they are giving their service from last many years with good reputation.

So till then bye take care..keep hustling

Thanks for the tips. I never considered event blogging, I can see how that would work out well money wise - but I would think that I would need to be top of the game and on my toes big time for that right?

In the long run wouldn't it be best though to concentrate on evergreen type keywords and content that will continue to pull in traffic for years to come? I totally get that this will take a lot of work on a constant basis with my traffic increasing very slowly? But then my traffic would continue for years to come.

I'm so not keen for the fake news tricks, I do appreciate the feedback but I heard that Google was going to come clamping down on this type of marketing, in fact I believe there was a community discussion about this very recently here?

How many Adsense ads do you currently have published? Because I found the more ads you have the fewer conversions and clicks you get. This is why I have only one AdSense banner on my blogs, they don't make that much anyways so I really don't care about the earnings but there is definitely a coloration between the number of ads and the potential number of clicks you may get. People hate spammy looking websites with lots of ads, it also distributes their attention on multiple levels, you ned to focus that intention!

Thanks Cristian. I have one ad in my sidebar and then within my blog posts I will add up to a maximum of 3 ads if it is a long article of about 1500 words. If it is a short article I will only put in one ad, or maybe I won't put one in at all. It depends on the article.

I have noticed a huge increase in earnings since I started putting ads in my content but I don't overdo it, I only put it in if it doesn't look awful.

@sayan162,

You suggest to create fake news stories to gain Adsense earnings. However, social media such as facebook is cracking down on this. The only reason for fake news stories to even exist is profit. Fake news gets a lot of clicks because it may sound bizaare, or the reader will scratch their head and rub their eyes to see if it is what they are really reading and that's the point of the fake news.

I would not post any spammish fake news content, as I would not want my name to be on it. Sometimes people believe these fake news stories and do bad things as a result. There was a huge influx recently about fake news stories regarding Donald Trump. There was a lot of fear because of the fake news stories, and it caused massive panicking among certain groups.

Just create real news, earn positively, that's the way to go.

Everett I agree with you on this one. Creating fake news to make money is not very ethical.

No, it is not, and people who create don't care because they are being paid to do it. In certain companies, the motto is, go viral or go home. So companies such as BuzzFeed, they make their employees create viral content. I never liked BuzzFeed because the articles, and content they publish are so biased it's unreal. There have been reports of exBuzzfeed employees giving the low down on how the company operates, and it's very shocking. Basically, they don't care about topic, as long as it's viral, the truth or not. They are in it for the money, and if it's not viral they simply won't earn. If you can not make viral content whilst working for BuzzFeed than you'll essentially be fired (if you're a content creator).

Yeah that's not the way I want to work at all. My goal is to create quality content that gives my readers value. If any of my content goes viral I will be smiling all the way to the bank but I would rather focus on creating quality content and building a really good foundation for long term, sustainable income.

Wow, I must've missed this topic entirely. This was awesome! - Thank you all for these superb answers and thank you Lynne for a great question!

Traffic and rankings obviously seems to be "the way to go", for adsense earnings overall or in general, but it's fantastic to get so much answers, inputs, thoughts and suggestions in one single topic like this. I just love it!

Thank you very much everyone, I appreciate it. I do understand that I won't be able to earn anything from Adsense for my upcoming blog immediately, but with some effort, time and with some blood, sweat and tears, I might actually have a shot at it.

However, I've also heard that it's "impossible" to make any "real money" so to speak from Adsense nowadays.. So I guess I'll just have to wait and find out.

First of all you have to place adsense ads on the places that catch the visitors' eyes. The best ad spots are within the content, place ads below the title, in the middle of the content and at the end of content.
Secondly, your ads should match with the content in order to increase ad clicks. If your post is about hiking benefits and the ads say create facebook profile, then it is less likely that the visitor click the ads. If you want the ads to show ads relevant to the contents, you need to use focus keywords on your article.

It’s really sad that I had read a news report about Adsense. That it had reduced the revenue sharing scheme to 50% of the previous allocation. In that case, our Adsense earnings will be cut into half of what it used to earn. But what can we do about it? Maybe we just have to put in more high quality content to increase our earnings. And if you have a blog, you can focus on the SEO methods in order to get more visits and potential content from the comments.
