What is the real essence of putting a service service on ''sale''

In the gig service settings, there is a button that enables us to put the service on ''sale'' and at a much lower price than the original price. but sometimes i wonder what is the real essence of this feature since you can still adjust the original price at any time you wish by either increasing the original price or lowering it. Or is it like a form of discount price that has is valid for a certain period of time until expires and returns back to is original price?

Sale button is a great marketing tool here on seoclerks. I will explain a few reasons why, the first reason is it gives new clients to try your service at a discounted rate. The other advantage to putting your service on sale is that it shows up slashed on the service list in categories. This makes your service stand out above others when people are searching. You can set the duration of this sale for 1-14 days and i believe you can change this at anytime. Once you put a service on sale you cannot put it on sale again for 30 days after the sale is over. Use the sale button to increase sales feature your service for a month in your preferred category. You will see an increase in sales for sure, Awesome topic.

Thank you so much for your explaination. now i have a clearer view about it. and i feel that one can also use it to get more positive reviews from buyers which will later increase the good reputation of the service gig. then the seller may decide to increase his service price again if he wish to.

Thanks for all these details Jkeyz2. I didn't know you couldn't put a service on sale longer than 14 days and that then you would not be able to put that same service on sale again for 30 days.

I will keep that in mind, very useful.

I know why I was putting my service on sale sometime ago. The main reason is that everybody and I mean everybody, loves discounts and sales so I was counting on this factor. Check every shop during the holidays or the blackfriday to see how many people are buying stuff that they actually don't need just because there is a red label hanging and it's SALE.

I know that this is a service platform but somehow it does work the same. Sale will bring you more customers and be sure that if you are doing your job right, you will be receiving more orders.

It is a sales tactic for sure. If I am going to spend $5 on a service I am much more likely to buy a service that is $10 but on sale for $5 than a service that costs $5. It is just ingrained in me that I will be getting double the value at half the price.... It will look like the $10 service on sale will be giving me a much better deal.

I am sure other people think the same way. Also if I am willing to spend the $10 and I am keeping an eye on that service because I want to buy it at some stage and try it out if I see it on special I will be very likely to buy it.

Having the "on sale" tag can help a lot in getting more new orders, do have it as much as you can! I don't recommend you adjust the price, potential buyer that are lurking will notice that and won't order, on the other hand as soon as you mark the service as "on-sale" and the price actual drops, lurking buyers will see that and the may be more tempted to order.

I usually off a couple of bucks from the original price. 5 dollar services will go on sale for $4 and 10 dollars services will go on sale for $8 and so on. This method had worked for me over the years and I'm not planning on changing it.

Putting a service on sale is only going to be effective if it is a genuine sale. If you are dishonest by increasing the original price before putting it on sale, you are mostly likely not going to get any sales. There are even going to be some regular buyers who will realize what you did as they may have got used to your services and their respective prices. I suggest that to make the best use of the sale feature, you should utilize it honestly, by really slashing prices a bit. This can be done when you do not have any orders to see to.
