5 Ways to increase Traffic to your website

Ask a marketer or business owner what is most important to them, and they’ll all tell you “more clients.” There are many ways you can increase traffic on your website, today i am going to show you 5, including a few ways to boost traffic 100% FREE.

1. Get Your Website on Social Media!

Now that you have a website, you need to be proactive. And social media is one of the best ways to generate that traffic you're looking for. Twitter is best for marketing slogans, one liners, memorable quotes that get passed around. Google+ promotion can pump up your search results and is an idea vehicle for B2B niches. If you’re a B2C product company, you'll get more success with visual mediums such as Pinterest or Instagram.

2. Write Eye Catching Headlines

Headlines are one of the most important parts of your Website. Without a eye catching headline, even the most exclusive blog/website post won't get read. Create compelling headlines that demand attention. Use phrases that stick out; pose a question, try Like Minded Words, or make it personal.

3.Make Your Site is Fast and Sleek

Nobody likes waiting for slow web pages to load and this will increase your bounce rate ten fold. So make sure you website is fast and responsive to avoid angry people who just want to visit your site but cant. Make sure the content on your site is small but clear, including image file sizes, page structure and the functionality of third-party plugins and more. The faster your site loads, the better.

4. Do not underestimate the power of email marketing

Many businesses are so focused on attracting new clients through content marketing, that they forget about traditional methods. Email marketing is a powerful Marketing Method, and even a mildly successful email blast will result in a surge in traffic. Just use caution as there is a thin line between a newsletter and spam. Make sure whoever you send emails to opt in or have a way to opt out.

5. Research the Competition

If you have not researched the competitor how will you know what's going on? This is the most powerful way to increase your traffic. Why? If you are new to a niche and you have a competitor that is already receiving a load of traffic and sales, it might be worth it to research the things that they are doing. You could take these extra tips and tricks and apply them to your company and actually make your self more appealing to their clients.

7. Change your mindset and think a little out of the box! This is one of my best advice for getting more traffic. Sure there are many ways of getting more traffic as jkeyz2 nicely exemplified above, but my advice for people that are "stuck" and are thinking that "nothing works anymore" is to go completely into the opposite direction.

If social media doesn't work for you and you've done everything under the sun, then try a plain old-school marketing campaign with flyers and classic advertisement, try the papers!

6. Add quality content regularly and consistently. Writing quality content not only makes Google happy, but it also gives you something fresh and exciting to share with your readers via social media marketing and email marketing.

I find that when I am writing regularly I am getting good traffic and rankings

"nothing works anymore" that's not really true. Things usually evolve and if you consider that you don't get the results you want from one technique than you probably should upgrade your skills.

Thinking out of the box is fun too, not always efficient, but can bring you some benefits. I wouldn't trade a good Adwork campaign on a paper flyer camping, but hey this is just me.
Social media is a good place to promote your business but if you need more, you can try posting an Ad on TV or Radio. You will be surprised to see how many people are still using TV as primary source of news. A well placed campaign on TV can have a nice outcome.

So glad you guys took the time to add extra points. There are so many good points to increase traffic. Some are common sense and some you have to learn. Papers and TV Commercials work if you have something to offer the general public. if you have a certain niche the "Shot Gun" Approach can be a little expensive and risky. Thanks for your time Christian.

Lynne very good point i see so many people making websites and then just abandoning them. You have to be diligent like social media update people with what is going on. People want to see things change when it comes to chopping they like to see fresh colors. People do not want to shop with the same old stuff to look at or read the same stuff over and over.

Yes Raduv i agree with the TV statement but like i said to Chris the circumstances have to be rite. Ads can be a really good way to spread the word if you do it the correct way yes i agree.

The OP does not mention SEO. SEO is the only proven method to get traffic. SEO includes keyword usage, site speed, site design and backlinks among others. SEO will generate organic traffic which is durable.
The second method is social media marketing.
Third is search engine marketing.

I agree with your #1 point to get your website in social media and for me, Facebook is the best way. However, you cannot just post about your website, you cannot just promote it in any which way you like because some friends will block you, or worse, you will be unfriended for spamming. Your post in promoting your interest should be subtle and not forceful. Also, don’t post too often because that may annoy your friends. And lastly, be creative in your posts in promoting your website.

After search engines, especially Google, social media sites are the major traffic sources. Until recently, facebook and Twitter were major social media sites for traffic, however, these days there are so many social media sites and you can get traffic from various sites. For instance, social media experts say that Pinterest will soon replace Twitter and facebook for social media traffic.
